HSWS Tournament Stats

Down in Florida Will, Adam, and Franklin were named to the Home School World Series All-American team. They were deserving choices.

Batting leadoff, Will was Crown’s most productive hitter, reaching base 15 times…the most on the team. He scored the most runs, had the most extra base hits, and did not strike out. Will also pitched three games in five days, allowing just one earned run in seven innings of work…without his best stuff.

Adam had Crown’s highest tournament batting average, drove in seven runs (including one game-winner), and was the second most productive hitter. Like Will, he pitched seven innings.

Franklin’s team-leading eight RBI’s all seemed to come in clutch situations. He drove in at least two game-winning runs. During the tournament Franklin also led the team in on-base percentage.

Nate also had a fine tournament. Like Will, he collected eight hits (two triples) and scored eight runs. On Thursday Nate pitched three shutout innings to earn the Game One win. In Game Two he went 4 - 4, with two hits from each side of the plate.
