Spring Reading List

Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power, by Jon Meacham.

The Long Ball: The Summer of ’75 – Spaceman, Catfish, Charlie Hustle, and the Greatest World Series Ever Played, by Tom Adelman. Interesting account of the 1975 baseball season, which culminated in the World Series battle between the Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati’s Big Red Machine.

The Sun Also Rises, by Ernest Hemingway. My first Hemingway book. Guess I didn’t get it.

JFK’s Last Hundred Days: The Transformation of a Man and the Emergence of a Great President, by Thurston Clarke. Great detail, with plenty of backstory. The death of Kennedy’s infant son steeled his determination to be remembered among the greatest to hold the office.

Supreme Power: Franklyn Roosevelt vs. the Supreme Court, by Jeff Shesol.

The Astronaut Wives Club: A True Story, by Lily Koppel. About the wives of the seven Mercury astonauts.

How Full is Your Bucket? Positive Strategies for Work and Life, by Tom Rath and Donald O Clifton.

Atlas Shrugged: Part Two, by Ann Rand

The Day I Died: One Man’s Successful Battle Back From the Dead, by Jay Barbee. Not what I expected, but still interesting because the author covered NASA and Civil Rights in the 60’s. No descriptions of heaven or hell.

Now and Forever: Somewhere a Band is Playing & Leviathan ‘99, by Ray Brabury.
