Ditka: the Eagle Years

Few people remember that after spending six season with the Chicago Bears, Iron Mike Ditka was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles after a salary dispute with owner/head coach George Halas. Ditka spent two seasons with the Eagles before being traded to the Dallas Cowboys in 1969.

Though he is always associated with the Bears, the hall of fame tight end spent half his career playing for other teams.

Another fun Ditka fact: He is the only head coach in Super Bowl history to also score a touchdown in the Super Bowl – against the Dolphins in Super Bowl VI.
