The Cross Still Stands

Notre-Dame: Monday when it happened I read a lot, but that night an old classmate of Will’s was the first to express a similar opinion. While it’s true our God, our faith, our church is not any building, there is evil at work in the world, trying to wipe out Christianity. There have been dozens of French churches terrorized in the past few months (below). An earlier attack on Notre Dame had been stopped. While Christians gathered outside Notre-Dame yesterday to sing Ave Maria, nearby others rejoiced in the destruction.

People are turning a blind eye to what’s going on in the world. The media has already stopped calling the 911 terrorists Muslim. There's already talk of placing a Muslim memorial in the renovated Catholic cathedral. The Pope hasn't said much. In the end God will have the last word, but before then the tribulation will grow worse.

Braves: the relievers blew the game. Was it Sobota that hit the first two batters then walked the third? I didn’t blame Snitker for taking him out. Biddle says this is not happening again. Good for him. I wonder what change he will make? Throw strikes? Kris Dimino said it doesn’t matter how hard they can throw, if they can’t throw a strike. Plus most major league hitters can hit a 100 MPH fastball.

Ordered a 1976 Braves jersey, the one with red pinstripes. The one Andy Messersmith wore with CHANNEL 17 on the back. It is a special order item, so we’ll see if they get it right. Dang it I forgot to ask for the National League Centennial patch.

Monday: Ceil fixed spaghetti and meatballs, Matthew’s favorite. I left work at 5:30. Had to get gas. My Corolla is getting 32 MPG in the city and 40 on the highway. Helped clean up and watched The Neighborhood, then some of the Mets/Phillies on ESPN, and then the movie Sweet Home Alabama while I played on my laptop.

Tuesday: worked til 5:30. Wasn’t in a hurry to get home so I stopped at a thrift store to look around. Saw a nice Auburn pullover but it had Auburn on it. Ceil cooked black beans and rice. Also spinach. I added chips underneath to make them like nachos. Watched The Kids Are Alright and the Braves.

Anna and her roommates got their caps and gowns yesterday, and set off around campus taking pictures.
