Fear the Feather

This weekend the Braves are wearing the 1972 home white feather uniforms for Hank Aaron Week. Most fans love them, as do I. Loved the socks worn by Fried and several others. I have the crew version of those socks.
Probably best that the Braves wear the feather unis only one weekend a year, as opposed to making them their Sunday uni or something like that. They already wear red on Fridays and cream on Sunday.
IDEA: for Hank Aaron Week when the Braves wear the feather unis, have all the players wear number 44. At least for one game.
I love how Donaldson plays so hard. Swings hard. Plays great defense. Smart at the plate. Takes his walks when he doesn't get a pitch to hit, but also gets his cuts in. Everyone seems resigned to Donaldson signing elsewhere next year. Maybe the Yankees or Red Sox will back up the truck with huge offers. Probably not the Dodgers. But maybe with the Braves increasing their payroll GM AA will be able to make a competitive offer. Since Donaldson is from Alabama maybe he will make an effort to stay. I haven't heard anyone else off this theory, but one can hope.
Friday GM Eric and sales manager Shane attended the Cubs game at Wrigley Field.

We enjoy the Braves organist, Matthew Kaminski. Kaminski was thrilled to learn the Royals roster features Lucas Duda. Prepare to hear "Camptown Races" when he bats

BLTR: a study of MLB players who bat right and throw left (like me), supposedly the worst combination. Rickey Henderson. Cody Ross. Cleon Jones. Since 1900 only five BLTR nonpitchers have played 1000 games. Others could be pitchers, which is even worse (unless they are relief pitchers). They could get hit by a pitch on their throwing arm.

JOHN ROSEBORO was the only National League catcher in the 20th century to catch multiple no-hitters for a Hall of Fame pitcher. Caught Koufax no-hitters #1 (30‑Jun‑1962 vs. NYM) & #2 (1‑May‑1963 vs. SFG) Roseboro led the league multiple times in putouts, total chances, and double plays. Roseboro's fielding records cited Here One season he was one of only two lefthanders to get a homer off Whitey Ford all season. His teammate hit the other. Both in the 1963 WS (Willie Davis hit 2nd lefty HR off Ford).

Roseboro hit into the first-ever triple play by a Twins batter with the two thirds of the out being recorded by future Hall of Famers. On 03-Jun-1968 Roseboro hit a line drive back to Yankee pitcher Dooley Womack, (made famous in "Ball Four") who threw to third baseman Bobby Cox for the second out. The future Braves manager fired to Mickey Mantle, playing first base in the final year of his storied career, to complete the triple play.
