East Cobb Crime Blotter

Good discussion Tuesday night on 2 Thessalonians chapter one. My other friend Reid was there at group and was following me home, but stopped by Dicks Sporting Goods to look at thew UGA gear. He said the parking lot was full of police cars foiling a robbery that was in process. I guess East Cobb has gone downhill.

Stole Holly’s photo of her and hubby Thomas at the game Monday.

In the semifinal TCU had two pick sixes and Michigan had a sure TD pass taken away. Instead of winning 51-45 the Frogs could’ve lost 45-44, 45-37, or even 45-30. Not to throw shade on TCU, who had a great season and was deserving of their place in the championship game.

Paul Johnson was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame. Also Mark Richt, Tim Tebow and Reggie Bush. Since Stetson was never an All-America he remains ineligible for the CFHOF and UGA ring of honor. Not sure why Stetson hasn’t been invited if not to the Senior Bowl then why not the Hula Bowl or even the East West Shrine Game (coached by the Falcons staff). His presence could boost TV ratings and attendance – something all three games could use.

In addition to Stetson, the Dawgs are losing TE Darnell Washington, DB Ringo, two big defensive linemen, perhaps an offensive lineman or two, and three other tight ends. Kirby will retain his top two tight ends. The offensive line just missed being voted best in the nation. Read an article on the upcoming QB competition between Carson Beck, Brock Vandagriff, and Gunnar Stockton. Vandagrill may transfer after spring drills if he falls behind in the race, though all three love life in Athens. Vandagriff rooms with Brock Bowers and OLB #32.

At Tech, head coach Brent Key is not retaining his top two defensive assistants. Does anyone else see a little of Kirby Smart in Brent Key?

Also Tech: saw where they had a chance to win in regulation Tuesday night, but lost in overtime.

Up Wednesday morning to lift weights at the gym.

The administration is looking into reversing a previous federal government policy, placing restrictions on Christian schools.

DENISON: Patti Davis is the daughter of President Reagan and the author of an autobiography many years ago in which, in her words, she “flung open the gates of our troubled family life.” She now writes in the New York Times that she deeply regrets exposing her family’s private challenges to the public and has learned that “not everything needs to be shared.” She would “respectfully” suggest this lesson to Prince Harry today. Here's one reason her advice is worth taking: how we treat others is inevitably how the world will treat us. Jesus advised us in the so-called Golden Rule, “Whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them” (Matthew 7:12). He also taught us to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39, quoting Leviticus 19:18).

Henri Nouwens asks: “How can we come to know God when our focus is elsewhere, on success, influence, and power? The only way for us to stay well is to stay close to the small, vulnerable child that lives in our hearts. ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to the least of these my brothers, you did it to me’” (Matthew 25:40).

My daughter's teenage daughter now has a heart murmur that she didn't have before.
