Happy New Year?

Glad I didn’t watch that A&M game. I missed so many bowl picks. So many games I got wrong. Kentucky. UCF. South Carolina. Michigan. Maybe Georgia.

 

Dawgs have three defenders out. Texas is fired up. A bad snap on the punt, and the punter’s knee hits the ground – a difference of 70 yards of field position. At least the Dawgs held them to a field goal. Then on the next punt it looked like to me that the up back was too close and the punter had to change his footwork, leading to a shanked punt. Horns got the ball on the 50 but the Dawgs held. Then a dropped pass. Then a fumble. 17-0 Horns. Dawgs are missing tackles. Dropping passes. 20-7 at the half.

Not sure what’s wrong with Ricardo Blankenship. He missed field goals in his last two games, then almost missed an extra point just now. Maybe it’s the graduate patch.

Sam Ehlinger may be a decent QB, but he’s no Tim Tebow. Ehlinger went to the same high school as Drew Brees, so before the game Ehlinger wore Brees’ high school jersey into the Superdome.  

Looks like Holyfield will break the thousand yard barrier, making Georgia the first school with back to back seasons with two 1000 yard rushers - gained by four different running backs: Chubb, Michel, Swift, and Holyfield.

New Years Eve: Ceil went to bed at 10:30. We had watched some of the new years eve stuff on TV, then I closed out the year by watching two episodes of Seinfeld. 

 

Busy New Year’s Day for me. Phone was out of battery so I didn’t get to check emails all day. Cleaned upstairs. Watched the SEC Network – shoes about Herschel Walker and then Fran Tarkenton. Gassed up the Buick and ate lunch at Taco Bell. Oil change place was closed. Passed on a Rome Braves jersey. Went home and washed the Buick, getting it ready to sell.

 

After her big night out, Anna slept over at a friend’s apartment in Buckhead. Today she ate a big hot dog (with a fried egg on it) at Ponce City Market.

 

Ceil went to Dekalb Farmers Market, cleaned out the fridge, and cooked stir fry vegetables and rice with chicken and beef tips. M had worked most of the day, then ate supper with us.
