Welcome to the Show

Austin Riley made his major league debut this past Wednesday night, and hit a home run in his second at bat.

Austin Riley became another of a series of Braves to homer in their first game: Francoeur, Heyward, Jordan Schafer, Marty Malloy, Jermaine Dye, Bob Horner, and Chuck Tanner (in 1955).
Riley looked comfortable at the plate and in the outfield as well.

More of the same in his second game.

Mike Soroka is the first pitcher in history to allow one or fewer earned runs in as many as eight of his first ten MLB starts. Last night he made it nine of his first eleven.

Above: interesting sneakers.

Wednesday I stuck around the office until 5:45 to pay some bills and organize paperwork. Dropped some clothes by Goodwill and bought a nice REI shirt. Ceil was at small group so I fixed quesadillas. Was flipping between the Braves and Chicago Med. C got home and we watched the season finale of New Amsterdam.
Bad news: the funniest show on TV - The Kids Are Alright - was not renewed for a second season. Be sure to catch the series finale this coming Tuesday night at 8:30. The story of a Catholic couple in the 70's, with eight boys. I think my parents would even like it.
