Bama Edges Georgia

Alabama is good. Great play calling, which was the difference between the teams. Great use of their skill position players. Georgia had to play almost a perfect game to win. Seemed like a tad more calls went Bama's way, but that wasn't why Georgia lost. Mac Jones is a good QB.

I'm still Team Stetson. His haircut hasn't changed much in 18 years. There's a reason he's playing. The coaches see the practices, and know things fans don't. There's a reason JT Daniels has yet to play. Either he's still recovering and not ready, hasn't grasped the offense, hasn't done well in practice, or hasn't outplayed Bennett. Same with the freshman from Jacksonville.

Dawgs were able to keep moving the ball. Too many dropped passes. Podeski is filling Blankenship's kicking shoes, nailing another 51 yarder. They're calling him Hot Pod. Then he missed a key 35 yarder. Bama RB #22 Naji Harris seems like a good guy. One of the few players who wears his football pants down over his knees.

With #2 playing #3, either Bama or Georgia would be coming away with an impressive win. Some would think the winner might be worthy of a number one ranking. That meant Clemson needed to make a statement. Trevor Lawrence put on a show in the first half, but it didn't take much effort. Dude made some throws, at times firing the ball hard, with deadly accuracy. After putting up 50-plus in the first half, Lawrence spent most of the second half on the bench.

As usual, Dabo emptied the bench. Everyone who dressed out got playing time. Tigers played at least three backup QB's, including senior punter Will Spiers, who out-passed Tech's second half passing total. Tech fans weren't happy with the beatdown, neither with the Tech team nor with Dabo. But Clemson only scored twenty in the second half. If Tech didn't like it, they shudda stopped them. When the Citadel trailed Clemson 49-0 at halftime, they shut the Tigers out in the second half. Tech allowed 20+ more in the second half, and their offense fared even worse.

Tennessee lost to Kentucky. Vol QB turned the ball over at least three times. With the all-orange uniforms you think he'd be able to see his receivers. Wildcats will be sky high in two weeks against the Dawgs. Kentucky will lose.

Gamecocks finally beat Auburn for the first time in history. They did it on the loveliest village on the plain. The War Eagles have hit a new low.

Mighty #5 North Carolina, led by media darling QB Sam Somebody (is it Howell?) suffered three straight dropped passes trying to drive the team to a last second game-tying or game-winning score against lowly FSU. Looks like after four years Noles senior QB James Blackman might've finally lost his starting job, under his third head coach.

A fight Friday at Lenox Square led to a gun being shot inside the mall. Our Sunday School teacher's brother was robbed and beaten late Friday night at the bus station downtown.
