The Power of Positive Thinking

_{The last time the Braves got blown out in the first inning of a playoff loss, they won their next seven playoff games in a row. Last night the Braves outscored the Dodgers 3-0 over the last six innings. Based on the Fox experts gushing over the Dodgers 9th inning performance in their game two loss, this gives the Braves (already up two games to one) the momentum going into game four.}

_{If someone told you that after the first three games of the NLCS against the top-seeded Dodgers that Riley, d'Arnauld, Acuna, and Ozuna were 5-40, and Ian Anderson only lasted four innings, Kyle Wright didn't get out of the first inning – and going into game four the Braves were up 2-1 in the series, with their best six relievers having a day of rest, you'd take it. Also without Duvall, Soroka, Folty, Cole Hamels, Felix Hernandez, and Yasiel Puig.}

_{In July the Braves gave up 14 runs in a loss to the Rays, then won 5 of the next six. Later the Braves lost 14-1 to the Orioles, then won 6 of their next eight.}

_{Everyone expects the Dodgers to win the NLCS, so it should be no surprise the Braves lost a game. LA has the highest payroll in baseball, and have been in four of the last five NLCS's (and 7 of the last 13). Even longtime Braves beatwriter Dave O'Brien asked Braves closer Mark Mark Melancon if anything positive could be taken from the Braves second straight win over the Dodgers. Incredulous, Melancon stared at O'Brien, asked him to repeat his ridiculous question, then declined to answer. At least this has gotten the always negative Braves social media "experts" suddenly sharing positive sentiments, including some of the above information.}

_{In the 1992 NLCS a young Tom Glavine got pulled in the second inning after giving up eight runs in the Braves 13-4 loss. The next night the Braves trailed with two out in the bottom of the 9th. Then Francisco Cabrera singled to left, driving home Sid Bream, sending the Braves to the World Series.}

_{Alabama head football coach Nick Saban tested positive for covid, and is working from home. He shows no sign of illness. The Florida football team has also had several positive tests, jeopardizing Saturday's game against LSU.}

_{Sunday's Falcons/Vikings game is in jeopardy. Falcons reporting several cases, and have shut down their facility.}

ESPN makes the SkyCam footage available for fans to watch. SkyCam often picks up audio of the on-field banter. Last Saturday after a Miami defender led with his helmet, knocking the wind out of Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence's lungs, the Hurricane defense mocked the injury. A Clemson player told Miami to look at the scoreboard. The Miami defender got thrown out of the game for targeting. Earlier the SkyCam caught the audio of Dabo admonishing Lawrence to not lower himself to Miami's level, repeating "That's not who you are!"

Wednesday afternoon I was extra busy trying to get everything finished up by five. Then I discovered my customer hadn't entered their daily order. At five I asked, and was told it would take some time to compile. I drove home, and the order didn't come over until after 6:30. I entered it while watched the game. Still, due to the late hour only half the items made the truck. 

Chicken, rice, and tossed salad for supper. Ceil changed the channel. Watched the developing Hunter Biden story on the news. Also how some news outlets censored the story from public view. Then Ceil watched a ridiculous singing show on Fox, who doesn't televise the NLCS on their main network.

ACB: since she's a mother of seven, naturally she's having no problem answering the hard questions from the senate committee. I am continually amazed at social media. I've heard people describe ACB as "a freak", "no morals, no conscience."  

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable for judgement.' But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable for judgement; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says 'you fool!' will be liable to the hell of fire." Matthew 5: 21-22.

He has "become a household name for many over the past several months" due to his early & consistent reporting on the pandemic. His article this week in the Times, titled "A Dose of Optimism, as the Pandemic Rages On," has drawn significant attention. McNeil reports "non-pharmaceutical interventions" such as mask-wearing & distancing have "made a huge difference in lives saved." Now he focuses on pharmaceutical interventions such as vaccines & antibodies. He has become "cautiously optimistic," citing experts who "are saying, with genuine confidence, that the pandemic in the US will be over far sooner than they expected, possibly by the middle of next year."
