Sure, Mitchell and Walker played in different eras. Mitchell played in an era when the passing game wasn't as wide open. Walker played in an era when elite running backs primarily ran the ball, and rarely caught passes, returned kicks, or played special teams.
Yesterday I wrote about the Braves changing their name. Having been a Braves fan for my entire live, this is something I am not looking forward to. It appears the Braves are doing everything in their power to avoid this as well, forging partnerships with the Cherokee nation and selling t-shirts with Cherokee lettering. A name change is far from a done deal. But with the passing of Hank Aaron, the celebration of the franchise’s 150th anniversary, and a seemingly pleasing alternate team name, perhaps the timing is right to make an announcement late this summer.

BOB FELLER [SABR Bio] is the only pitcher in the Modern Era to have a double-digit strikeout game in the majors before he turned eighteen years old. Feller had four of ‘em! 23-Aug-1936; 07-Sep-1936; 13-Sep-1936; & 23-Sep-1936. No one else K’d more than four at that age. He rated Bill Dickey as the best catcher he ever threw to. Threw to NYY’s Dickey in the 1939 & 1941 ASG. Feller heard about the bombing of Pearl Harbor on his way to negotiate his contract and decided to enlist in the military instead. Pearl Harbor attack was on 07-Dec-1941. Feller enlisted in the Navy shortly thereafter, the first major leaguer to do so. He was the first American League pitcher to go by his given name to start an All-Star game. Known as “Bob”. His only career ASG start = 1941. AL ASG starters 1933-1940 were the “Leftys” (Gomez 1933-35, 37-38 & Grove 1936) or “Red” (Ruffing 1939-40).
Denison: In Rod Dreher’s latest book, Live Not by Lies, he states that in our secularized culture, “The great sin is to stand in the way of the freedom of others to find happiness as they wish.” As a result, we can expect to be labeled intolerant, bigoted, and worse. Scripture is clear: God made both men and women in his image (Gen 1:27; Matt 19:4). Women and men are equally loved by our Lord (Gal 3:28). Across Scripture we find women serving as prophets, judges, evangelists, and leaders. Children are loved and welcomed by God (Psalm 127:3; Matt 18:10; 19:14). Women and children must be protected from any who would harm them (James 1:27). Transgender Americans constitute only 0.6 percent of our population. How do we also protect the rights of the majority?

Friday: watched Jeopardy and Wheel, and later played on my laptop while C watched a Hallmark movie.
Saturday: restful day. Slept late, then made a run to the grocery store and Wendy’s. Watched golf, the Senior Bowl, and took a nap. Supper was Ceil’s homemade chili.
Sunday: listened to Passion City Church. Bought an Augusta Greenjackets golf shirt at the thrift store. Got a sub sandwich at Publix for lunch. Watched Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Went to bed early.
Monday morning I was already downstairs ready to leave for work, when I realized my jacket was still upstairs. I decided to go on without one. The morning wasn’t bad, but at 5 pm the wind was blowing across the parking lot. Good thing I keep a jacket in my car.
Stopped by Wendy’s on the way to small group. Later I played on my laptop and watched a couple of Seinfeld episodes, including the Second Spitter featuring Keith Hernandez.
