This and That

La Fonda is a block down Howell Mill from Westside Provisions / JCT Kitchen / Taqueria del Sol / Jeni's Ice Cream / Yeah Burger. La Fonda has Mexican and Cuban. Above average but not the tops. They have several locations around town, including Roswell Road at Weiuca, a tiny, cramped space.

A good small group meeting: John's detailed description of the Last Supper, Jesus washes the disciple's feet, and verse 13:34: "A new commandment I give to you: that you love one another, just as I have loved you."  After group I texted with Anna, Will, and MC, and talked to jeff Yearwood. Haven't had much time for Ceil, whose cough is getting worse.

We are still eating on leftovers. Ceil likes to cook, but enjoys eating other people's cooking. Still more BBQ to finish. I left the beef stew for her. We usually don't put leftovers in the freezer, but we have lasagna and chili in there.

Tomorrow my Sunday School teacher Brian is coming out to do lunch. I've had so much BBQ that I picked Mexican, which I know he likes. Brian is also on staff at JFBC, in charge of all missions, and the numerous missionaries the church has sent out.

Youssef: it's easy to lose patience with situations and people around us. We may seek to be patient, but we cannot generate a long-suffering spirit apart from the Spirit of God. It is not within our own capacity to be this patient. It is when the Spirit of God is pouring patience into our hearts that it becomes a defining characteristic of our souls, rather than simply something we futilely strive to practice in our own strength. Christian patience is based upon the absolute, unshakeable belief that God is sovereign, and that He is at work in the lives of us, His children. Christian patience stems from the knowledge that you will not be forgotten nor forsaken by God no matter the circumstances.
