Psalm 48

1. God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
2. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea.
3. thought the waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah.
4. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
5. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved,
God will help her when morning dawns.
6. The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
He utters His voice, the earth melts,
7. The Lord of hosts is with us,
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah.
8. Come, behold the works of the Lord
how He has brought desolations on the earth,
9. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth,
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear,
He burns the chariots with fire.
10. Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
11. The Lord of  hosts is with us,
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah.
The Braves wore camo caps this weekend. Didn't help much.

The Gwinnett Stripers opened their home season this week.
New apartments are being built out in left field,
making for more of a neighborhood feel to Coolray Field.
The jumbotron is new. I could've claimed tickets to the opener.
I could go on Sunday to get the McCann bobblehead,
but with the gas shortage I'd better stick close to home.

When the runner-up to the Kentucky Derby was introduced, there was added meaning to the words how the runner-up position was so important, as if something should happen that should cause the derby winner to be unable to serve, the runner-up would carry on as the rightful winner. And so it was.
Back in the swingin 70's Steelers running back Frenchy Fuqua wore stacks with goldfish in the heels. In ninth grade I had a similar pair of stacked heels, but no fish.
Saw a leaf that looked like a tiki mask.

Defensive coordinator Maxie Baughan in the engineers hat.
Baughan is in the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame.
To his right is receiver Jimmy Robinson,
who later coached for the Dallas Cowboys.
