Denison: we noted our freedom is rooted in the declaration that "all men are created equal." However, as we discussed our freedom as finite and fallen people is best exercised under the authority of God. When we fear God we need fear nothing else, as Oswald Chambers observed. "We must all appear before the judgment of Christ, so each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil" (2 Cor 5:10). I don't know that you and I will face God’s judgment tomorrow, but I don't know that we won't. God is the Judge of the universe (Rev 20:11–15) before whom "each of us will give an account of himself" (Rom 14:12). We do well to remember every day that "it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment" (Heb 9:27). 

Stripers gave away this cap last night, but I was busy. Not sure if I want to make the trip out there in September to get one. Could buy one one eBay for the same price.

RICH GOSSAGE [SABR Bio] holds the record for finishing the most All-Star Games, with six: 1975, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1984 & 1985. He is one of only four Hall of Famers born in the Mountain Time Zone. He was born in Colorado, as was Roy Halladay. Ralph Kiner was born in New Mexico and Harmon Killebrew was born in Idaho. No other major leaguer has won more games that he didn’t start in the expansion era. Goose won 115 games from 1972-94 in relief, and won nine more that he did start, all of those coming in 1976.

LARRY WALKER [SABR Bio] hit .350 or better for four out of five straight seasons since Tony Gwynn did: .366 .363, .379, .309 & .350 1997-2001. He is one of only three Canadians who have won MVPs: Walker in 1997, Justin Morneau in 2006 & Joey Votto in 2010. Walker is one of only two Canadians in the Hall of Fame. The other is Fergie Jenkins. Walker is the only player in MLB history with 350 home runs, 200 steals, a .300 batting average and a .400 OBP. Walker left a career legacy of 383 HR, 230 SB, .313 BA & .400 OBP.

TOM PACIOREK [B-R Bio] holds the MLB record for most hits in an extra-inning game he did not start. On 08-May-1984, in a game between the CHW & MIL, Paciorek replaced Ron Kittle in left field in the 4th inning. The game lasted 25 innings and Paciorek was 5-9. Paciorek once pinch-hit for a future Hall of Famer in a World Series game - for Don Sutton in the 1974 G 5, 6th inning. Paciorek was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 9th round of the 1968 NFL draft, 240th overall, having played as a defensive back at the University of Houston. Was once picked by a Chicago newspaper as the second-best-looking major leaguer, behind Jim Palmer.
