Greatest Blog Post in History

Some youngsters are calling Ringo’s pick six the greatest play in UGA history. Most weren’t born when Lindsey Scott scored against Florida. For fun I brought up Theron Sapp’s drought-breaker TD in 1957. Fun fact: Sapp went to my high school. 

Here’s my list of greatest plays in UGA history. Add Michel Sony’s game-winning TD run in the Rose Bowl (and the blocked kick just beforehand) and Ringo’s INT to the list - which includes Richard Appleby's legendary double pass.

Tuesday: left work at 5:30. Had to stop for gas, Dollar Tree, a convenience store, and McDonalds for a Chickfila-like sandwich. Didn’t get anything else. Got home and watched Jeopardy and an episode of Man in the Arena. Then a sitcom about a car company and an episode each of Eli’s Places on ESPN+ and Young Sheldon.

Wednesday: left work at five. Made three stops on the way to Cumming, including McDonalds for another Chickfila-like sandwich. Only three at the Hot Stove meeting: me, the host Johnny, and old Tom Curran. Plus two high school coaches to discuss their upcoming season. Interesting to hear some of the challenges they face, including the current long delivery times for baseballs, uniforms, and equipment.

Made it home by 9:45 and watched some Heartland with C. Took Winnie out before we went upstairs to bed, but once we were in bed all snug with the lights out Winnie said she had to go outside again. Grabbed a jacket and cap and sneakers (warmer than Crocs) and took her out in the cold. Every morning C will take Winnie out on a walk, and W will usually do her business some time during the walk. When I take her out at night W wants to snif around and look all around, and gets distracted from using the bathroom. Maybe that will change with age.

I was down another pound Thursday morning, the lowest I’ve weighed in years. Down nine pounds for the year. Super busy with work. It just comes and comes. Finished one project yesterday afternoon. Lots of little stuff today. Friday at lunchtime I get paid $75 to sample pastries. Yum! May golf on Saturday.

John Adams said “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is inadequate to govern any other.” He noted “happiness, order, and preservation of civil government depend on piety, religion, and morality.” Adams warned, “We have no power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry would break our Constitution.” A good civics lesson today from Denison.

GIANCARLO STANTON  [B-R Bio] has hit the most home runs in a season since Bonds set the single-season record, with 59 HRs in 2017. Barry Bonds hit 73 in 2001. He led his league in slugging three times and led the majors once: .608 in 2012; .555 in 2014; & .631 in 2017. He once led the league in total bases with a number that was only his third-best total. Led the NL with 299 in 2014. Had 377 & 314 in 2017 & 2018 respectively.
