Bo < Andruw < Dale

680 the Fan’s Nick Cellini tweeted that Bo Jackson would’ve made hall of fame in both football and baseball had he stayed healthy. In baseball Bo had a few spectacular plays, but was almost as famous for breaking bats over his head or leg after striking out. Had he broke a bat every time he struck out, experts would be blaming him for the climate change caused by the elimination of forests. There was even a bobblehead of Bo breaking his bat after a strikeout.

Bo struck out over 35% of the time, a third more than Dale Murphy and Andruw Jones. More than Kingman and Uggla. Dale and Andruw have more impressive stats than Bo in almost every area of the game. Not many .250 hitters in Cooperstown. Had Bo batted as many times as Andruw, Jackson would’ve finished with 447 home runs. Kingman hit 442. For all his defensive prowess, Bo did not win a single Gold Glove.

If 2-time MVP Dale Murphy and Andruw Jones can’t earn induction into the baseball hall of fame, I have a hard time believing Bo Jackson would ever get in. Bozo Jackson has a better chance. He hit .354 from 1933-1945.

Braves manager Brian Snitker remembered attending Mass in the stadium club at Dodger Stadium. Vin Scully would always be there, and would do the readings. Snitker “felt like I was in heaven listening to God”.

Every so often our Sunday School teacher Brian, who is on staff, will encourage us to not forsake gathering together for dinners, etc. We already meet regularly as small groups and lunches with other guys, and gatherings on weekends, especially during football season.

A co-teacher had a bunch of guys over Friday night to watch a movie, about rescuing people from slavery. As I had done all last week, on Friday I stayed at the office working late, and promptly forgot. Big crowd.

Saturday morning golf. I arrived at the course when it was still dark. Hard sometimes to time my long drive. There was a guy wandering around the place dressed in all black, so I drove down the street until it was lighter. Turned out to be a guy wanting to play golf. We let regular early bird GT go off ahead of us. My regular partner Robert didn’t show, so I took Paul off myself. I didn’t play as well as I had on Friday morning. Finished around 8:25.

After golf I stopped by two thrift stores and McDonalds. Got home and took M’s car for emissions. Then a haircut and a great meal at Bad Daddy’s Burgers. Home to clean upstairs and do laundry. Watched the movie Enola Holmes (Sherlock’s younger sister). I slept through the ending.

After worship we ate at El Porton, next to our Stinky Kroger. We were going to split a combo meal, but the waitress misunderstood and brought out a meal for Ceil as well. Which meant I ate too much.

Later we took a nap and watched the exciting finish to the golf tourney. Did more laundry. Due to my busy last week, over the weekend I caught up on well over a thousand emails (mostly junk).

Up early to run three miles at the gym this morning.
