Evidently until this weekend some were expecting the Ohio State QB to run away with the Heisman Trophy. Not so fast. Okay, by my measure (TQBR) Sproud or Stroud and Hooker are tops in the country, ahead of Bryce and Stetson. Hold your votes to the deadline, as Heismans aren’t won in October.
Well that was some game, Bama@Tenn. Like so many don’t give UGA or the Braves any respect, I’m doubting the Vols can run the table. Gonna be tough for UGA to beat them, but it should be a good game to watch. After an off week, UGA hits a tough stretch: Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Kentucky. Tech plays Thursday, so there aren’t many good games next Saturday.

The national media isn’t gonna know what to do if the Yankees lose, what with the beloved Dodgers once again failing to advance to the World Series. No team has repeated as champion in over 20 years. Some don’t think the Braves will re-sign Dansby.
The Braves radio broadcaster expressed his displeasure with the lack of effort displayed by rightfielder Ronald Acuna in Saturday’s playoff elimination game. He wasn’t the only one. Some may say calling out Acuna is racist or not woke.
Watching Vandy play in black pants made me wonder, when was the last time a national champion wore white jerseys and black pants? Like never. I know I’ve said it before, but white over black screams App State to me. Mizzou, Wake Forest, not Bama or UGA.

Uni Watch is all woke over the Braves team name and their tomahawk logo, but says nuthin bout the Suns new unis featuring – wait for it – Indian iconography.
Friday night M made a pizza at MNG for C to bring home. The Braves were losing so I watched the debate. The liberal New York Times and AJC dubbed Herschel the winner, and surely they know better than this humble Georgia hayseed.
Saturday after golf and a 2-1/2 mile walk with Ceil, I spent the rest of the day cleaning out the garage. Should be able to fit a car in there after we take stuff to the dump. Also worked out there Sunday after church, cleaning out the utility room and raking leaves. Piled Ceil’s car full of the Whole Foods donations for The Table, and filled my car with Goodwill donations. A 16000 step day.
MC is out of town again, so after work I have to (1) stop for gas, (2) donate at Goodwill, (3) grab a bite to eat, (4) small group, and (5) pick up Winnie down at W&MC’s, since C will be spending the night.
MIKE McCORMICK [SABR Bio] allowed the most major league home runs before he turned 21. He won the CYA in 1967 for the Giants, beating out two HOF pitchers. Played for Washington in 1965 & 1966. Pitched for the NYG in 1956 & 1957 and the Yankees in 1970. He played in two ASGs in both 1960(1) and 1961(1), but was also a member of the NL AS teams 1960(2) & 1961(2). He might not have been used in the second 1961 game because he had surrendered a home run to Harmon Killebrew in that year’s first ASG earlier that month. McCormick impressed with his steadiness in 1967, winning eleven games both before and after the 1967 ASG, for a MLB-leading 22 wins. The Giants won an additional five games he started that year, but still finished second, 10-1/2 games behind St. Louis for the NL flag. He also might not have made the NL AS team because it was already packed with 14 future HOF players, including five pitchers.
