KC or SF ?

Who will win the Super Bowl? KC or SF ? I like KC coach Andy Reid better than the SF coach. Everyone likes KC QB Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce, even me. I like SF QB Brock Purdy and SF TE George Kittle and SF RB Christian McCaffery. I like the KC RB who went to LSU.

There’s a rookie for the 49ers who won championships playing for UGA the past two years, who is going for a third straight title this year. Not a fan of KC kicker Harrison Butker, who is good but missed so many kicks while at GT. He’s living his best life now, as the GT football NFL poster boy. He spoke at the GT graduation.

Both KC and SF have nice uniforms. I like how the Chiefs fans employ the tomahawk chop. Would be good if SF wins so people will quit saying Mahomes is better than Brady and Montana and Bradshaw.

Taylor Swift has a new album coming out in April, but if the Chiefs lose she might crank out another album on her flight to Australia next Monday.

Maddux facts: had a ten year stretch where he won 180 games. Won 15 games in a row for 17 straight years (and 18 of 19 seasons – in year 18 he only won 13 games…so he did win 13 games 19 straight seasons). Had a 2.09 ERA in the World Series. Nerds say a pitcher’s won/loss record doesn’t matter. Those are the “experts” who claim 110 game winner Tim Linceum’s ten year career is HOF worthy just because he won back to back Cy Young Awards. Tim will have to get in line behind Dale Murphy and Andruw Jones (and others). Maddux won four straight Cy Young Awards, and a total of 355 wins – the most by any righthander since the Dead Ball Era. Only lefty Warren Spahn won more.

Monday I coughed a lot. Bought more cough drops. Not 100% so I am skipping the gym. The coughing wears me out. Worked until almost 6 pm. C cooked soup and chili. Didn’t feel like dragging out my laptop.

I am trying to get C into basketball, so maybe I can get her to watch UNC vs Clemson.

I remember the restaurant Six Feet Under, but have never been.

Denison: in 2018, the drug overdose death rate in San Francisco roughly matched the national average. Five years later, it was more than double the national level. Why?  Activists argue for “body autonomy,” claiming that people have the right to put whatever they choose into their veins and lungs. They say it’s no one’s business but the drug user’s.

YOGI BERRA [SABR Bio] was the first New York Yankee to win MVPlayer awards in consecutive seasons, in 1954 and 1955.  He had also won in 1951. He was the first player to hit a grand slam in a World Series game that his team lost, in the 2nd inning of Game Two on 05-Oct-1956. Since then Jose Canseco (1988 — the Kirk Gibson game) and Adam Duvall (2021) have also hit Grand Slams in losing WS games. Yogi’s No 8 was retired by his team 16 days before he was inducted into the Hall of Fame, on 22-Jul-1972. The HOF ceremony was 07-Aug-1972.
