BREAKING NEWS: with the reporting of pitchers and catchers, we’re seeing the first on field glimpses of the Braves redesigned uniforms. The navy jerseys look lighter and brighter, and the piping has changed from grey to red. I never was a fan of the navy jerseys anyway.
Hate the red spring training caps, though the new in-season batting practice cap (below) closely resembles an old 2014 spring training cap that I already own.
Here's a look at the better looking 2014 spring training cap. Mine includes a flat bill chewed on by Winnie, though it's still wearable.
Perhaps the saddest part is that MLB pants are being standardized, and the Braves will no longer wear their signature red and navy piping on their beltloops, which date back to their days in Boston (1946). The Tigers will lose their signature multiple belt loop look, that also dates back decades.

Left work Wednesday just before six. Stopped by Kroger for ice cream. They had “buy one, get one free”, so I am set for a while. Got home and started doing chores. Took out the trash and recycling. Did three loads of laundry, and folded a bunch of clothes.
Ceil cooked steak for dinner. Apple pie for dessert, served with the vanilla ice cream. I’ve heard of cheese on apple pie, but have never tried it. Yet.
Was after 9 pm before we were finished in the kitchen. Then more laundry and folding. C was watching Chicago Med and the end of the Super Bowl on the NFL Network, condensed by cutting out all the time between plays. I didn’t sit down until I got into bed at 10:30. Last night I saw the GT/ND game was on, but didn’t want my heart broken.
Thursday: ran at the gym before work. Worked past 615. Drove home. Ceil grilled chicken, baked potatoes. Also slaw and a spinach dish. Later I had apple pie and ice cream (no cheese).
Skipped the gym Friday morning to play golf. Georgia State math professor Gee T was there. We hadn’t played together for weeks and weeks. Since I had a playing partner I didn’t hit as many shots. Was on the phone pretty much the entire drive to work. Arrived at 9:15. Not bad.
MARK McGWIRE [B-R Bio] was the only player to hit 25 or more home runs in each of his final seven seasons: 39, 52, 58, 70, 65, 32 & 29 HR 1995-2001 (345 total). He hit more home runs in a season than any other player with a batting average lower than .190. McGwire hit 29 HR while batting .187 in 2001, his final season. 52% of his hits that year were HR. A 12-time All-Star, three time Silver Slugger winner, he led the majors three times in slugging and OPS+. His stats are shown here.
