Car Deals

My Thursday: Skipped the gym: man I have taken off too many days this week. The cold isn’t helping.

700-1230 worked from home.

1230-115 take Winnie to the groomer for a haircut.

115-400 work from home. My car checker called with a glowing report on the 2009 Nissan Frontier I had him check out. Of course there a couple of inaccuracies listed by the seller, but none too damaging. I was able to negotiate the price down a little, but not much.

400-600 recruited my friend Lee to ride with me up to Canton to get the truck. M couldn’t make it that quickly from Decatur. Had to stop by the bank first. Had a nice chat with Lee on the ride up.

The truck is in pretty decent shape for being 16 years old. Rode pretty well on the drive back. M wanted a truck to haul wood, to use when he grills.

600-730 Matthew was pleased. I drove Lee back to his house and stopped by RaceTrac. Ceil had driven back down to W&MCs.

730-1030 ate chicken salad and tomato soup, watched Jeopardy, Georgie & Mandy, and The Sandlot” while working on my computer.

Skipped the gym. Need to do some work sometime this weekend.

PAUL MOLITOR  [SABR Bio] rapped out 225 hits for Minnesota in 1996, many of them following his 40th birthday on 22-Aug. The total is the most by a 40-year-old. Only Molitor and Ty Cobb collected 500 stolen bases, 600 doubles, 1000 walks, and a .300 career batting average. Click here to compare. Molitor attended Cretin HS (now Cretin-Derham Hall HS). They won state baseball titles in 1981, 1982, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2001, & 2007. HOF Joe Mauer is also an alum.
