R.I.P. George Cooper

Thursday: back to back episodes of Young Sheldon. Every scene with Sheldon's father was cringeworthy, wondering if it would be his last. Several times this year George would huff and puff and put his hand to his heart. Finally near the end of last night's second episode he said goodbye and went off to work. Later a knock at the door: his assistant coach and school principal at the door to deliver the bad news.

Lots of cast members making appearances as the show concludes: Sheldon's two professors and the college dean. Meemaw's boyfriend Craig T Nelson. Sheldon's high school teacher and lunch pal, and the school librarian.

Ate on the baked chicken her had cooked earlier in the week. Also watched So Help Me Todd. Should've tried harder to see where the Dream vs Fever game was broadcast. Gabby traveled from Iowa to attend the game. In her previous game Clark was gassed from avoided the constant double team. Chicago blew out the NY Liberty, but it was just a preseason game. Angel Reese was "dominant" with 13 points.

Hard to understand how to watch the Braves and Hawks and Dream without paying an arm and a leg. I just get updates on my phone through Twitter.

Woke up Thursday with an ailing lower back, an ailment I've had before. Much better by Friday afternoon. Something I've had before. Usually hits once or twice a year. I try to avoid taking Advil and Tylenol if possible.

Today our plant grilled burgers and dogs for lunch, and had way too many left over – so some of us from the office got to join them. Score!

Not sure what we are doing for Mother's Day. Will has to work. Anna is going on a short camping trip today and tomorrow with her girlfriends. One of her roommates from college is getting engaged. Grace, who also served as a bridesmaid.

To me some "electric" razors are too complicated. I did like to use them when I hadn't shaved in a while, to trim back my "beard" before using a razor for a closer shave. Matthew used to use the electric razors, several that he had gotten from Ceil's father. By the time M moved out, seemed like that's when the electric razors that M had left behind didn't work any more.  I'm also not a fan of those razors with like 4 blades. Too much for me. I like the simple disposable Bic double razor.

A look at Steve Martin's Emmy-winning career as a songwriter. Even Paul McCartney has recorded a song written by Martin.

Lots of talk around Vegas about the alleged UFO that crash landed there recently. This video of the aliens has been deemed by "experts" as authentic.

ALEX RODRIGUEZ [SABR Bio], Tony LaRussa, and Robin Yount played shortstop at 18 years old for an American League team in the Expansion Era of the 20th century [all at shortstop]. LaRussa played for KC in 1963; Yount for the Brewers in 1974; A-Rod for Seattle in 1994. ARod is the only AL shortstop to hit more than 40 home runs in a season, with 42 in 1999 and 41 in 2000. He hit 57 for Texas in 2002. After his playing career Rodriguez and billionaire Marc Lore attempted to purchase the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx and the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves. After extended negotiations Rodriguez and Lore each now own 20% of the Timberwolves, with 60% remaining with the original owner.
