Wednesday: up early to golf. Teed off at 6:23 am. Was a little tight after lifting weights for the first time yesterday. Did not hit the ball well.
1. Lost 3 balls.
2. Lost 2 balls.
3. Lost 4 balls.
4. Hit a worm burner that got a decent roll. Three good chips. Two putt for bogey.
5. Another worm burner off the tee. Mulligan found the street. Another bogey. Found a ball.
6. Got a good roll off another worm burner. Lost 2 balls. Cruddy fairway shot. Poked one to the fringe. Then I sank a 55 foot putt. Shot of the day.
7. Decent 5 iron off tee. Low but got a good roll up hill. Two flubs, then two more. Hit three decent chips to the fringe. Okay lag putt.
8. The tee shot felt good, but I never found it. Two flubs. Then the maintenance worker arrived to mow the green, but he waited while I hit a chip. Knocked it onto the green. Then with him watching I almost made another long putt. Found a ball, so I broke even for the hole.
9. Hooked two tee shots before finding the fairway. Hit an approach into the woods. Made two fair chips, and rolled a putt close on the sloped green. Lost one ball for the hole, and was down 12 balls for the 9 holes.
Lunch at La Parria. Chicken burrito. Good. Celebrated Vanessa’s birthday.
Worked until 7 pm. Braves tickets fell through. How many HR did Ozuna hit last night? Two? He leads the league. Were you happy with Sale’s pitching performance?
Stopped by RaceTrac on the way home. Seemed to catch every light. Watched Jeopardy and more of the Tom Brady roast, then Elsbeth and The Neighborhood.
Tuesday: stayed late again, finishing up another project. Ceil baked a chicken. Also rice, mixed fruit, and a special salad. Also blueberry muffins. She watched The Voice. I played on my laptop. Watched The Weakest Link and Password.
Thursday: Sore from my increased physical activity, but still hit the treadmill at the gym this AM.
Kirk Cousins chose to not re-sign with the Vikings because they told him they planned on drafting a QB in the first round. Then Cousins signed with the Falcons – who had did the exact same thing.
DENISON: pro-Palestinian protesters disrupted a solemn remembrance march to honor the victims of Nazi atrocities at Auschwitz. Protesters even wore yellow badges resembling those forced on Jews by the Nazis. This time last year, could you have imagined such a horrific scene? Antisemitic protests persist because there has been so little accountability for them. Many protesters even wear masks to hide their identities; others insist on amnesty for their actions. Where authorities have enforced their “time, place, and manner” restrictions, order has prevailed.
