Braves: with Jansen the plan is to pitch him a full inning, regardless of lefties and righties. I don’t know if they brought him in to the game mid-inning, or to start the 9th in a save situation. Like your friend Bobby Cox, Snit is trying to let Jansen work out his problems in games. Doubt he’ll get the same chances in the playoffs if he don’t improve. Why not send him to Gwinnett and let him pitch every night?

I hate driving on I-85 up to the Stripers games. I take surface streets the whole way, and love it. Speaking of Gwinnett, this Saturday is Max Freid bobblehead out there, but we’re supposed to go over to someone’s house. We have something going on every weekend except three through Thanksgiving. Trying to plan a trip.

We ate at Houston’s Monday night. Ceil ordered the Cornish hen, with a baked potato on the side. I had the burger, which was piled high with tomatoes and shredded lettuce. Very good. Would've taken a picture but Houston's bans cell phone use at tables. One lady near us got dragged outside.

Hey when you order steak, how do you ask for it to be cooked? Rare / medium / well??? I usually order medium well. The ground duck / beef at Canoe was a little dry (which I don’t mind, but hard. Bun also hard. The Houston’s menu warned they didn’t :guarantee” steaks cooked more than medium, and so I ordered my burger medium. Probably would’ve been better had I ordered medium well.

We arrived early, as I used the GPS to avoid traffic. We drove home on the route I had wanted to take on the way to the restaurant: West Paces to Northside, across Mt. Paran up the hill to Mt. Vernon. Got a nice view of downtown, with the sunset reflecting off all the skyscrapers.. Then Riverside to Johnson Ferry and on home.

Lifted weights Tuesday morning at the gym. MC is going out of town this week. Ceil spent the night with Shivonne. This afternoon little miss came to our house for a sleepover.

For me tonight the burger binge continues. I cashed in another free ticket at Ruby Tuesday (below). I took the scenic route there again. Then a leftover burger on Wednesday.

DENISON: Australia’s Margaret Court won 24 Grand Slam singles titles. She made news during the recent US Open when she disclosed she has become persona non grata in the tennis world because of her Christian beliefs. She opposed same-sex marriage when it was proposed in her country, and the backlash has been severe ever since. Lobbyists are calling for Melbourne Park’s Margaret Court Arena to be renamed. She replies, “They got everything they wanted in marriage, and everything else. So I think, ‘Why, when you should be so happy you’ve got that, are you still taking it out on people if they haven’t got the same beliefs?’  Also: a Justice Department official recently labeled the religious liberty legal group Alliance Defending Freedom as a “hate group.”
