Zhang Wins Again

Rose Zhang. In March she won the Augusta National Women's Amateur (in a playoff). In May she won her second NCAA induvial championship, the first woman to do so. Then she turned pro and won the first LPGA tournament she entered (in a playoff). She was the first woman to win her LPGA debut since 1951. At Stanford she had NIL deals with adidas and other companies.  She also won the gold medal in the 2019 Pan Am Games. Her list of accomplishments is long.

Monday: out late past 9 am at the first guys summer Bible Study, at Dave R's house with Jim, Matt, and Reid. Good stuff. Got home and had to go out again to Kroger because Shiv had run out of diapers.

Tuesday: up early and ran 4 miles despite a hurting back. Got home to keep Shiv while C went for a haircut. New washer delivered. Then W&MC arrived to pick up Shivonne. Spent time visiting with them.

Tuesday: worked past 5:30. Hustled home, then over to Lee & Nancy's for a going away dinner for Steve & Sarah (who sat to Edie's right at the wedding reception). Kabobs, salad, cherry pie, ice cream, & Nothing Bundt Cakes. Also there: Reid & Noelle and Molly. Didn't get home until after 11 pm. I had put a load of wash in before we went, plus another before hitting the sack.

Was so tired I slept straight thru the night until 5:47. Didn't get up once. Lifted weights at the gym.

TY COBB [SABR Bio] was the first major leaguer to hit a home run in 24 consecutive seasons, from 1905-1928. In 1905, 1906, 1919 & 1928 he hit only one for the year. Only Rickey Henderson had a longer streak, with homers in all 25 of his major league seasons (1979-2003). He won two batting titles with batting averages lower than his career average. In 1907 (.350) and 1908 (.324) Cobb won AL batting titles. In 1907 he led the majors.  Both numbers are well below his career average of .366. He appeared in the 1951 movie Angels in the Outfield with Joe DiMaggio and Ralph Kiner (AITO).

DENISON ON CHATGPT: as Pablo A. Ruz Salmones, CEO of Xeleva Group in Mexico City notes:,"AI like ChatGPT doesn't "have, by definition, a source of truth; it's simply not in the model—hence why sometimes they make things up and extrapolate. They are incapable of finding truth, so that even when they do stumble across it, they are unable to recognize it as such."
