Productive Saturday. Cleaned upstairs, putting more up in the attic. Cleaned out the attic landed and threw away a bunch of stuff. Moved a chair downstairs and a mattress upstairs.
Left at 3:10 and headed over to CoolRay Field. Stopped by QT for a drink and RaceTrac for a fill-it-up cup. Parked next to bobblehead Bobby and LJ, bought a ticket, and hung out in the cool shade with LJ and Matthew Gilbert, a regular I had met before. In seemingly no time the crowd gathered and the gates opened.
I went out and went through the line again to get Kevin his manager Brian Snitker bobblehead, then we went out again to stash our loot in our cars. Walked around and talked to Johnny and Hugh.
Shortstop Ozzie Albies had just been called up from AA Mississippi, and this was his first game in AAA Gwinnett. Norman shot dozens of pictures of him and everything else).
In the top of the first pitcher Williams Perez gave up a leadoff home run. Perez was wearing some goofy white shoes (above) that probably contributed to his poor performance. The next six Columbus batters also reached first base, before Albies finally turned a 6-4-3 inning-ending double play (below).
I watched Ozzie lead off with a hard grounder to second-base, then made my leave at 7:30 and headed to Toco Hills for M's concert (more on that tomorrow). Good thing, as it wasn't long before a thunderstorm washed out the game. While merging onto I-85 south I was nearly broadsided by a speeding driver hell-bent on passing a car on the right.
