My plan for today's post was to display
more photos of the wonderful Braves feather uniforms.
Nice ending to last night's game:
Ronald Acuna's first walk-off game-winning hit.
Ozzie Albies (below) and Luke Jackson (above) were two of several Braves to wear the knee high Stance feather faux stirrup socks.
Something I had always noticed has showed up this weekend: the curved white front of the Braves batting helmets varies from player to player. Today I snapped some screenshots to send to Uni Watch. Below: Ender's helmet has a more pronounced curve, similar to the 1972 helmets worn by Hank Aaron and Dusty Baker.
Austin Riley's helmet (below right) has less of a curve, more like Braves helmets in the late 70's, like Brewers helmets of the same era. At left third base coach Ron Washington's helmet is curved like Ender's. The Padres also had a pronounced curve on their brown and yeloow helmets.
Another helmet difference of note: the A on these throwback helmets is three dimensional for the first time this year.
Speaking of reliever Luke Jackson, despite being forced into the unfamiliar role of closer, a role he isn't suited for, Jackson worked his way up to tenth place in the Cy Young predictor race.
Good look at the feather socks
on reliever Sean Newcomb (above right) and Albies (below).
Note the curve on the helmets below.
Not a fan of the white shoes.
