Watched the NFL Draft last night, and again today while I did laundry. Kept waiting for Fromm to get drafted. Many don't understand that had he stayed at UGA another year his draft stock would've only fallen. He once was considered the number one overall draft pick. Then five of his receivers jumped to the NFL, along with three thousand yard RBs and his center. Then a poor showing at the combine with no pro day to do better.
Not sure windy Buffalo is the best landing spot. Fromm's only hope is for the starter to get hurt. After he was drafted several other teams drafted QBs – Titans, Jaguars, and Vikings. Also the Rams.
Rodrigo wasn't drafted. At least two other kickers were drafted. At least now Blankenship can sign a free agent contract and not have the added pressure of a team having invested a draft pick on him. He quickly signed with the Colts, so he'll only have to replace the greatest kicker in NFL history, Adam Vinatieri. Guess Blankenship's stock fell this past season after missing key kicks against SC, GT, and Bama. Rodrigo may be on a national radio show on Monday, with the former Colts punter.
Falcons drafted a punter from Syracuse. Kid grew up a Braves fan and wore #10 in honor of Chipper Jones. The Birds have already signed last year's kicker Koo, who went to Georgia Southern.
Below: Thomas has his windows open.
Hope the Patriots weren't outside listening in.
Continued work on my list of all the sporting events I've attended in my life. Now up to 2014, though I need to go back and add a few details. A few are things I had completely forgotten about.
Looks like we're watching a Hallmark Channel rerun tonight.
One more thing: NFL commish Roger Goodell worked hard this weekend to look like a man of the people. For a 61 year old he looks buff in a tight t-shirt. Didn't see any workout equipment in his basement. Now he needs to work on his tan.
