Puma Clyde Hardwood

Had my eye on a pair of Pumas on eBay, trying to decide on those or the Vans. Thought about making an offer for ten bucks off. Then a received a notice the seller was offering them for twenty off. Went to cash in my focus group gift card, and realized I had two gift cards. Guess it was meant to be.

Puma Clyde Hardwood Dreamsville Edition: black with white and red on the back. Because I needed another pair of black sneakers with white trim, especially since I'm working from home more.

Not crazy about the red but the black backed model has a more plain instep (below). The red-backed Dreamsville doesn't have the Puma "swoosh" on the instep either, but at least it has more white (above).

Sometimes I think about what I would talk to a particular person about, whether it be sitting next to Andy Stanley on an airplane or talking to Abe Lincoln about the country's current state of affairs, and what I would show him if I was driving around town. Or where I would go if I were the only person left on earth. But would electricity still work? Would gas flow from the gas pumps? What would I eat once all the food spoils? Canned food, I suppose.

I worked until close to six again Thursday evening. Forgot to stop for gas on the way home. C cooked black beans and rice. Slow evening.

Back to the YMCA this morning. I'm not one for calling it the Y. Ran/walked three miles at a decent pace. Gassed up my car. Working from home today and probably Monday.

CLEM LABINE  [SABR Bio] was the first pitcher to earn a save in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, on 18-Apr-1958. He won World Series rings in consecutive seasons, but with different teams. Was on LAD for the 1959 WS and on PIT for the 1960 Fall Classic. He finished his career for Casey Stengel on the expansion 1962 New York Mets. It was a mere four innings, but he was there.

Denison: why does this omnipotent and omniscient God allow such tragedy? A huge blaze at the site of Europe's largest nuclear power plant set world financial markets tumbling overnight. We asked why God is allowing this escalating crisis. When humans misuse our God-given freedom, the consequences are not God's fault but ours. But God redeems our misused freedom for his glory. The Bible teaches that God will ultimately bring justice to every nation, assuring us that "vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord" (Romans 12:19). Since God is ruler "over all the kingdoms of the nations" (2 Chronicles 20:6), we can see his hand in the fall of Nazi Germany and the USSR. The evils currently being perpetrated by Russia under Vladimir Putin will ultimately face the justice of God. "Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb" (Psalm 37:1–2).
