A-List Play Day

Stopped by Truist Park this afternoon for their season ticket play day. With MC out of town, Will brought Shivonne, so Ceil tagged along. I got to have a catch with Will out on the centerfield grass.
"Snacks" were set out in the Delta Club. First time I had been there since they renovated the place. More seating now. Chicken tenders, ribs, those fried cheese things, beef wellington, popcorn, hot dogs, Cracker Jack, chips, peanuts, and coolers stocked with Coke products.
I saw former coworker Blake, but missed Chris and Michael.
BREAKING: Dale Murphy passed over again for Hall of Fame induction. Only Fred McGriff was elected. McGriff was a beast, putting up legendary number with few comparisons for the first ten years of his career.

A Newsweek article claimed Herschel does not own any NFL records. This is untrue. He is the only NFL player with a TD run, a TD pass reception, and kickoff return for a TD all over 90 yards. Walker is also the only NFL player with a TD run and TD pass reception greater than 80 yards in the same game. Herschel also broke the Cowboys single season record for pass receptions. Walker also has gained more combined yards than any player in pro football history, and more total yards than any football players in history (high school + college + pro).

I wish Walker had never run for office. Politics just doesn't suit some people, me included. He set himself up for everything he’s **had hit him. I don’t want to have much more to do with any kind of politics. Glad the commercials are almost over.

What would've been nice if Stetson Bennett had run for the Senate.

So many people take vacation in December, but we should have a meal at the office some time in December. Hopefully not a food truck. Also our team will eat at a super nice steak house way out in Duluth, across from Discover Mills. Must be like Bones or Ruths Chris. But only like 16-20 folk attending.

I wish I could get C to do the fake tree. Real trees are such a hassle.

Denison on current events. Dallas businessman Ray Nixon shared this truth: “When the mouth is open, the heart is on display.

I took off Thursday, but it seemed like I was just spinning my wheels. I was still sore from my workouts so I slept in instead of hitting the gym. Too cold early on for golf. I cleaned upstairs. By the time C was ready to go vote the line at the polls so super long. Traffic there in the parking lot and on Lower Roswell was jammed. We went to Home Depot to get new doorknobs, then to Whole Foods for a Christmas tree. Then back to vote. Took 40 minutes. Then to Target. The whole ordeal took like 3 hours. C had to meet friends at 2:45, so I dropped her off so I could get her car washed. Then home to reload her junk in her car, set out the tree, do some laundry, and a little work. Then pick up C and take her to meet Anna in Roswell. Then home. Not a productive day for me.

LUIS TIANT  [SABR Biotrailed only Bob Gibson in number of major league shutouts thrown in “The Year of the Pitcher”. In 1968 Tiant led the AL with nine shutouts and an ERA of 1.60. Gibson amassed an otherworldly 13 shutouts for St. Louis while posting his modern ERA record of 1.12. Tiant’s mark is the best in the AL since the end of the Dead Ball Era. Also named Luis Tiant & also a pitcher,  his father played for 3 teams between 1930 & 1947. He retired at the age of 40 in 1947 with a regular season record of 9-0, and helped lead his New York Cubans team to the NNL2 title.
