Unified

I just finished the book "Unified: How Our Unlikely Friendship Gives Us Hope for a Divided Country", by Senator Tim Scott and US Representative Trey Gowdy, both from South Carolina. Scott grew up in Charleston, Gowdy near Spartanburg. Scott has a good section on just being there to listen, with no need for a response.

Was I the only one to notice that CJ's mom just happens to know exactly which drawer where painted face guy keep his wifi passwords?

Man finally I had a real good night’s sleep last night.

Citadel basketball reminds me of Pat Conroy’s book The Losing Season. I think you said you had read that one.

Man I worked past 6 pm then made 2 stops on the way home, no three stops. Got home in time to see final jeopardy. M was baking, C at her women’s ministry. Worked on my correspondence.

Was running late so I ran two fast miles. New record for the year. Should’ve ran three, I had time.

Hot Stove meeting tonight. Zane Smith was there. Old school. Down to earth. More to follow on Zane.

DENISON ON CUBA: according to a white paper for the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, attacks on religious freedom are escalating in Cuba: “virtually all independent faith leaders say they are actively repressed.” Many are facing death threats, violence, detentions, harassing phone calls, repeated summons to appear before authorities, and acts of repudiation. Faith organizations are targets of high utility rates and tariffs that are “choking” operations. Faith leaders are discriminated against in access to education and employment; police interrupt religious services; Christians’ goods are arbitrarily confiscated.

DENISON: popular doll maker American Girl has published A Smart Girls’ Guide: Body Image Book. The guidebook reportedly advises children to ask their doctors for puberty-blocking medications and encourages young girls to seek transgender support without parental consent.

KEN GRIFFEY Jr.  [SABR Bio]  has been a contestant in the modern version (since 1985) of the Home Run Derby more than any other player. Griffey was a contestant in 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1997, 1998, 1999 &, 2000, winning it thrice, in 1994, 1998 & 1999. Both are records. He was the first 30-year-old player to collect eight runs batted in in a single game in the 2000s, on  08-Jul-2000, at the age of 30 +230 days. At select home games, he came to bat to the sounds of ”Sirius” by the Alan Parsons Project. Listen here.
