Amapola Bakery

Matthew and his partner are selling their first item: pastry boxes. DM them for more information.

Man this weekend I ate and ate and ate. Stayed on the go. Didn’t see any bowl games, NFL, or the PNC Championship. Annika played with her son. Also Furyck, Justin Thomas, John Daley, Trevino, Gary Player, and Charlie Woods and his father. More on the golf tomorrow.

Worked from home Friday. Then to a gathering with the missionaries we support. Twelve plus several kids. Fun time. Chinese food, plus desserts from Matthew and his baking partner.

Saturday AM golf. Then I drove C to Avalon. I took a nap in the car while waiting for her.

Later we drove to Gwinnett for a work dinner, with 13 in attendance. Workers and spouses. Frankie’s: the Steak House near Gwinnett Arena. Very fancy and good. Several of us ordered a tender cut of meat. C and I had salads and baked potato. From the appetizer platter I had some lobster and lamb chops. Cheesecake for dessert. Others ordered cake (carrot or chocolate or coconut) that were HUGE – 1/5th of a tall 7 layer cake.

Sunday School with over 30 in attendance. Two reports from mission trips. As we were leaving a fire alarm went off. After a couple of minutes it was determined to be a false alarm, but not before the tiny tots in Sunday School had been led out to the cold.

On the way home C had to stop by Whole Foods. I took a nap in the car. Stir fry for lunch with M. Later I took a nap. The TV was on the fritz since Saturday. I finally “logged off” and back on, then it worked.

At 5:30 we went to the Sunday School party. Pot luck covered dish. Lots to eat. Ham. Salads, potato dishes, lots of desserts. A zoom call with a young woman out on the mission field. At least 34 in attendance, including a new member who runs track for the Brazilian Olympic Team. She trains at nearby Life University. Interesting young lady.

Up early to run three miles at the gym. Slow at work, so I’m getting a lot done. Small group tonight has been cancelled.

Did you hear that on Saturday Drew Kelly must’ve fallen while walking his dog, and fractured 4 ribs? He went to the Northside ER for treatment. Will wasn’t working that shift.

At lunch I went on a wild goose chase. Drove over to the Gwinnett Stripers stadium. They were having a sale at their team store (didn’t get anything). But I took a wrong turn and it took longer than I wanted. Made good time though.

The Baltimore Orioles of the American Association & National League is the only former major league franchise to win a thousand games before its demise, with 1,133 from 1882 to 1899. The Chicago American Giants & Kansas City Monarchs also won more than 1,000 games each.
