Same Old Falcons

Falcons: I lost the emotional attachment a long time ago. Every week people complain on social media, as if they're surprised when in reality it's the same result every week, every year.

Many people are complaining about the play calling. Many people complaining about Ritter. Sure, he's only played one season's worth of games. Experts not seeing much improvement. Good young QBs step in and make plays. Ritter wasn't even a top-rated prospect coming out of college. He played four full seasons in college. Not against the highest competition. Some people want to give Ritter and HC Smith more time. Smith has had three seasons, all with just about the same record. An improved team would've won more of the close games.

Yesterday Koo missed two field goals, which was the difference in the game. On the second miss, I heard the offense could've done a better job of getting Koo into a better position to make the kick.

I worked from before 9 am until almost 3 pm. Stopped by two thrift stores one the way home. Passed on a Stripers jersey but bought a brand new pair of adidas Stan Smiths. Came home and caught the end of the Falcons game. Saw the Jaguars lose, then watched the Bills beat the Chiefs. KC scored the go-ahead TD when Taylor Swift's boyfriend caught a pass, ran with it, then threw a long lateral across the field to a teammate – who easily ran the final 20 yards into the end zone.  BUT that WR had lined up offsides, so the play was called back. Mahomes was livid. After the game he completely lost it.

C said Dr Marsh didn't look too bad. Margaret Hurt will be having a baby boy, in February I think. C returned home after shopping and fixed grits and eggs for supper.

Okie likes to snuggle, and he's huge – much bigger than Ceil.

My lower back hurts bad, so I skipped the gym this morning. C is spending the night at W&MCs, since MC is on a trip for work.

Denison reports on a demonic alternative to Christmas, growing in popularity.

In a related story, a statue of a demon was erected inside the Iowa state capitol.

JOHNNY DAMON [SABR Bio] played for the Thailand national baseball team. His parents met in his mother's native Thailand, where his father served as a U.S. Army sergeant. His brother James was born in Bangkok, but Johnny was born in U.S. He joined Thailand as it attempted to qualify for the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Played for Det in 2010. He received MVP votes in four separate seasons and he has two World Series rings. Was part of BOS when they won their breakthrough WS in 2004. Played for NYY when they won in 2009. In the 2018 edition of FOX television's "Dancing with the Stars", Damon & his professional dance partner, Emma Slater, were eliminated on the first day of competition.

I always remember Dr Marsh's long sermon series entitled "The Psalmist Faced…" followed by whatever the subject was for that week. My favorite was "The Psalmist Faced A Scowl". At Camp SPdL we did a takeoff of the SPdL service, a skit called "Bingo Bob". The title of the sermon was "The Psalmist Faced Repetition". You could stand at the door and ask the people leaving the service and ask what the sermon was about, and most people would have a hard time remembering. I like how at JFBC the Sunday School lesson is whatever the previous week's sermon was.

Did you hear about how FBC in Simpsonville SC baptized 141 people at one time? Last week when JFBC baptized 46, they rented out a little baptistry pool so they could baptize one on the left, while the next person was getting ready over on the right. Pastor Clay would give a short introduction, then during the baptism would be handed a card with the info for the next person getting ready to be baptized over on the other side.
