The Weekend That Was

College Football Playoff: FSU missing out was interesting, though they struggled to beat Louisville. Bama manhandled UGA on the line of scrimmage. They'll beat Michigan, then avenge their loss to Texas in the national championship game. You heard it here first.

UGA will beat FSU In the Orange Bowl. I still haven't checked the bowl schedule. Clemson vs Kentucky in the Gator Bowl could be a good game, as will GT vs Troy in the Birmingham Bowl. Not much GT buzz on social media after the announcement. What did Tech fans expect for a 6-6 team who doesn't travel well?

I've been on the go since I don't know when. Friday I worked past 615 then drove cross town to babysit at W&MCs. Didn't get home till 1130.

Saturday I worked from 9-1. Stopped by Goodwill on the way home to drop off a carload of donations. Came home and didn't sit down all afternoon. Finally did some straightening up and organizing of Matthew's stuff in the living room. Piled more donations in the back of my car.
Watched the first quarter of the SEC Championship at home before leaving for dinner. Drove on surface streets through Roswell Alpharetta and Duluth to Frankie's Steakhouse over by the Gwinnett Arena.

We had a total of 16: eight coworkers and 7 spouses. Appetizers were mostly seafood: oysters shrimp etc. The fried lobster was delicious. I skipped the rolls. Salad, loaded baked potato. Grilled Brussels sprouts. Lobster macaroni & cheese. Probably should've ordered a larger steak, but I only got the 8 ounce center cut. Didn't finish, and added it to Ceil's doggy bag.

For dessert my piece of chocolate cake was huge. Took a tiny bit home. Got home like at 1030. Watched a little FSU but went to bed at 11 pm.

Sermon Series: The Gift
Matthew 2:1-12

The wise men: Jesus is worthy to be worshipped. Clay demonstrated worship by laying face down on the stage. But no sermon today. Instead 46 baptisms, all teenagers.

After church I drove C to Perimeter Mall. Sat in the parking lot. Forgot the playoff was being announced. Drove home, then to Truist Park for a Braves event, which included lunch: burgers, tenders, egg rolls. Big crowd.

They gave away a previously unreleased bobblehead. I sold four for $100.00 each. Also scored an Andruw bobble.
