Dawgs Win Rose Bowl

What an exciting Rose Bowl. I'll probably be talking about it all week. W&MC made it to the Rose Parade, then saw several friends before the game.
A good omen: Lee Corso picked Oklahoma.
The Dawgs won't be so lucky next week.
Chubb and Michel passed SMU's Eric Dickerson and Craig James as the most productive running back duo in college football history. I'll have to see if Dickerson and James had their rushing totals from bowl games included.
Nice Gameday segment on Mayfield's friendship with the late Mackenzie Asher.
When Michel scored his first touchdown on the 75 yard run he surpassed 1000 yards for the season, giving the Dawgs their first duo of thousand yard rushers in the same season.
After Rodrigo Blankenship missed his first field goal attempt Baker Mayfield was caught on camera giving the throat slash motion and saying "It's over." Some may not think its a big deal, but after the game he was a little more contrite.

Early prediction: neither Clemson nor Bama will be able to score 48 points on UGA's defense. The Dawgs won't be able to score 54 next week, but expect them to be favored.

This morning ESPN College GameDay had a lively interview with Herschel Walker. Great 2015 article on GridironNow.com about how current players have their bowl yardage counted in their career numbers, though players from the past (like Herschel Walker) don't.
Georgia also won the 1942 Rose Bowl, beating UCLA 9-0 on a Frank Sinkwich touchdown and this blocked punt for a safety.
Number 12 Central Florida upset Auburn in the Peach Bowl. Guess it was bad karma for Auburn to wear the special edition Under Armour Cam Newton cleats. For those Auburn fans who thought the Tigers belonged in the Playoff, evidently they didn't belong in the Peach Bowl.

Outback Bowl: Michigan couldn't have played worse. Four second half turnovers followed by a dropped pass. They handed the game to South Carolina. Perhaps head coach Jim Harbaugh should step down and take one of the numerous NFL head coaching jobs that have opened in the past couple of days.
