Buckeyes Blow It

My Saturday: slept late. ESPN College GameDay. Cleaned out the gutters front and back. Up and down the ladder. Good exercise but tiring. Also did some laundry and helped with the dishes. C and M cooked Mexican for supper.

 

Watched a little Penn State / Memphis. Biggest games in Memphis history and they wear all grey uniforms.

 

UGA has 20 players out for the Sugar Bowl, including their top two RB's, three offensive linemen, and their all-American safety.

This Fiesta Bowl was a barnburner. Both teams getting breaks. Could've been any variation of 24-24 at halftime but it was 17-14. A couple of times the Ohio State coaches made Clemson look bad. Loved the call when Fields took the quick snap while the entire Clemson defense was looking over at the sideline.

Clemson defense made Buckeye QB Justin Fields beat them with his arm. Blitzing some but laying back covering receivers. Two dropped interceptions before finally grabbing an INT. Both of Ohio State's TD's came off long running plays. Then the second interception sealed the game.

Glad to see Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence bounce back from getting knocked out of the game after being hit by the Buckeye leading with his helmet. Amazing 67 yard TD run, even if you don't like Dabo. Lawrence is a strong Christian who sometimes attends Passion City Church when he is in town.  

On Monday Buckeye fans were still complaining about the incomplete pass replay ruling. Goodness gracious its the rule. It was reviewed. If it was a bad call well those happen in every game against every team. What about all the missed Ohio State opportunities? No TDs in three trips to the red zone. Roughing the kicker penalty. Targeting. Buckeyes dug their own grave. They had their chance.

 
Sunday: JFBC. Got ready for Christian to return from Kansas but it was after midnight before he arrived. Anna ate supper with us: burgers and fries. M worked late as well taking physical inventory.
 

Monday: over 16000 steps 8 miles including a 4 mile walk/run this AM in just over an hour. Later C went to a movie with friends (Little Women). I went out in search of a clear plastic purse / bag / backpack for her to take to Passion Conference tomorrow. Up and down aisles in ten stores. Found some cheap roller skates in nice clear backpack like containers. Decided to go to two other stores nearby then returned to buy the skates just for the bag. All the skates were gone. I walked all over the store to see if a shopper had them in their cart. I was going to buy the skates for them but they were long gone.

In the meantime I bought a soft drink, shampoo, detergent, toothpaste, a Masters golf shirt, Under Armour golf shirt, adidas half zip pullover warmup, and blue suede adidas Samba sneakers. Also shopped for a new pair of running shoes. Passed on two pairs of Nikes. But no clear bag.

Got home and took Ceil out shopping. Found a bag at Dick's Sporting Goods. Then drove her to Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square. Checked out the Pink Pig. Then to Around Lenox. Then Moxie Burger for a chicken sandwich and fries.
