The Great Brady Heist

Fox recently aired a documentary about the FBI recovering Tom Brady’s stolen Super Bowl jerseys. An interesting story. The fan was not charged, but the NFL banned him from attending NFL games for the rest of his life. He apologized to Brady, and Brady accepted his apology. Brady didn’t want anyone going to prison over a jersey.

Nice win by GT last night. I tuned in for the second half.

Saw where the Hawks were involved in a four team trade.

Braves fans moaning that the Dodgers traded for Mookie Betts “while the Braves did nothing.” Actually before yesterday LA had very little, while the Braves signed a closer, two starters, a catcher, left fielder, backup first baseman, and two utility players. Also firmed up their bullpen. Fans complained when they didn’t make a bunch of moves in November. What the Braves need to do is sign the players, then wait to make the announcement right after another team makes a move. I don’t hear any Braves fans cheering when the Nats got outbid for the all-star third baseman.

Braves won their division last year by ten games despite Freddie Freeman not being able to bend his elbow, signed all these new players, and many are picking Atlanta to win their division again. Most fans don’t know what they’re talking about. Be glad you’re not on social media.

Good article by Denison today. Andy Stanley just finished a sermon series about politics, probably with similar points those Jim made. Nowadays the government is threatening churches who get involved in politics, saying they’ll take away their tax exempt status.

New JFBC pastor Clay Smith was live tweeting last night’s state of the union address. Made some comments that could be construed as political, which is interesting for a pastor. Had an old friend from GT that went on to become a pastor in New England, which I’ve heard is a pretty liberal place. He kept posting so many conservative posts, very anti-liberal. Not sure what his parishioners thought (or non-Christian visitors to his church). I finally blocked him.

Had another friend close out her social media account without telling anyone, which is the way to do it. But then she created a new account and wanted to link up with me. I thought it was a fake account at first.

Tuesday: left work after five, went straight to the gym after dropping off items at Goodwill. An hour of weights. Home to eat leftover kale, potato wedges, and baked beans. Watched GT/VT and Parenthood. Also “Making it” the delightful crafting show hosted by Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman.

Anna says she knew the Cheshire Bridge Taqueria is open on Mondays, but her friend didn’t want to drive across town.
