Got home Friday about 4:15. Will arrived shortly thereafter, but fell asleep during the game. Braves were doing great until Ceil got off the coach to go get supper. Call was ridiculous, but the Braves gave it away. Watched all the postgame interviews on the MLB Network. Glad it generated nationwide discussion on the one game play-in, something baseball has never had. Will spent the night at the Normans .
That GT 4th down “play”...it’s always the same, and it never works. (UGA jumped offsides Sat pm against SC on 4th down). People have mentioned it on the AJC blogs. Since the defense (& everyone else in the stadium) KNOWS that GT is just trying to pull the defense offsides, GT should do exactly like you say, and as the play clock is running down snap the ball.
Saturday we watched ESPN College Gameday, the Tech / Clemson game, and the UGA / SC game. Wasn’t surprised by the Tech loss, although there were several coaching mistakes on Tech’s end. The announcers thought Clemson might win out and go to a BCS bowl, but he’s sadly mistaken. No way they beat rival SC.
Nothing went right for UGA. I had become a believer in Aaron Murray, but he reverted to his old “missing receivers” self. SC just stuffed the UGA offense. Rough night.
Sunday we were running everywhere. M had to be somewhere at 1:30, A at 2:30, and W at 4:30. Gathered back together after the Passion service to celebrate M’s birthday: Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. Matthew got a new Lego set for his 14th birthday. Harry Potter twin towers, which merges with the Harry Potter Lego set he got for Christmas. Watched some of the Yankee game, then went to bed.
I put together enough of those zillion piece Lego sets, at midnight on Christmas Eve. Back then it wasn’t Lego but Duplo…fire trucks, ambulance, pirate ships. Check them out on line…pretty interesting. Different than Lego.
