Stumbled across my friend Bryan Coley's YouTube videos last night. He encourages people to develop their own top ten list of movies, a task that's hard to whittle down. Perhaps they're not the manliest of movies. Perhaps these movies do say something about me. Here's ten of mine, in alphabetical order.
Back to the Future
The Family Man
Field of Dreams
Groundhog Day
Independence Day
National Treasure
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Shawshank Redemption
Tootsie
You've Got Mail
Honorable Mentions: The American President, Dave, Up in the Air, At Middleton, Eagle Eye, Broken Arrow, and many more after that. All movies I will stop and watch when I see they are on. Like many others, Joan of Arc and Sound of Music were near the top for me as well, but didn't make my top 16. Also Les Mis. Tried to watch Prince of Tides once but it seemed dark. I need to read the book. Speaking of books, I just finished a good one: The Silent Patient.

workers by letting twelve first responders play with radio hosts Buck Belue and John Kincaid. Will was picked, and he'll be playing in the tournament July 30 with Kincaid. The first responders were picked without regard to golfing ability, so it's a good thing Will has been playing every week. The tourney takes place at Lake Lanier. I'd like to take off and go watch, but I'm not sure that will be possible.
Yasiel Puig would've been a great addition to the Braves lineup. I'm would've been glad to have him. Funny that so many fans loved Puig but hated Markakis, yet their stats are nearly identical.

Cardinal fans love them some Yadier Molina. He may be good defensively, but Yogi and Johnny Bench were no slouches behind the plate. Plus they could hit.

When Andy Stanley announced North Point would not be gathering for the rest of the year, there was a story in the AJC. He was also on CNN, wearing a t-shirt sold by his son's company. Haven't heard if Johnson Ferry is going back to Phase 1 (not yet), but we will stick to online Sunday School and worship. Did I tell you that we were watching Louie Giglio preach last Sunday. He was wearing a black t-shirt as usual and when he waved his arms I noticed a hole in his right underarm.
Interesting that NBA players can wear messages on their jerseys like EQUALITY, VOTE, BLACK LIVES MATTER, etc. but now LeBron is just wearing his name
Denison: Churches are being burned all across the country. Why is this not national news?
More Denison, this time on Cancel Culture: "Why is a social media campaigning to boycott a company that is donating two million pounds of food to food banks during the pandemic? Goya Foods CEO Bob Unanue was invited to a ceremony at the White House where President Trump signed an executive order creating the Hispanic Prosperity Initiative. Unanue announced his company's food donation and stated "We pray. We pray for our leadership, our president, and we pray for our country, that we will continue to prosper and to grow." Backlash was immediate and severe. Former HUD Secretary Julian Castro condemned Mr. Unanue's statement on Twitter, saying "Americans should think twice before buying their products." Chrissy Teigen tweeted that she would no longer buy the company's products. Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted: "We learned to bake bread in this pandemic, we can learn to make our own adobo con pimienta. Bye." This reaction is especially ironic given Mr. Unanue's earlier work with the Obama administration. The Goya Foods website notes that "in 2011, President Barack Obama honored Goya for its continued success and commitment to the Hispanic community, the only company to ever be honored by Obama. In 2012, Goya collaborated with First Lady Michelle Obama and the USDA" to launch a healthy.

Another interesting Denison column. He quoted 2 Timothy 2:23–25: "Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth."
Took off Tuesday and Wednesday but not sure how much I got done. C had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Took one load to Goodwill on Monday after work and have a small load to take today. Did more sorting on Tuesday. Also cut the grass. Supper was pesto chicken, corn on the cob, collard greens, and roasted potatoes.
Wednesday: taxes took much longer than expected. Had to drive to work to print off forms, and swing by the crowded post office. Taxes always wear me out. Stopped by Taco Bell for lunch and later Wendy's for a reward frosty. Loaded the car and took out a bunch of recycling and trash. Did laundry both days. Anna ate with us Wednesday night. Baked chicken, tossed salad, cheesy ravioli.
Ceil had a mammogram Thursday afternoon. Anna ate at Superica at Avalon in Alpharetta. C fixed leftover baked chicken, ravioli, spinach, and squash. Watched Holy Moly, then C flipped over to the Hallmark Channel.
With the increase of positive tests, a change was made at work: we'll come to the office every other week for five straight days. Since my coworker is taking off July 27 week, I'm working from home all next week. Anna will be driving my car and C leaves for SC, so I'll be home all week without a car.
