I'm garnering quite the PFG collection, The weekend I bought a navy short sleeve PFG with the Stripers logo, and swapped for a royal short sleeve with the Braves lower case a logo. I recently bought a long sleeve navy PFG, These three join (4) black, (5) light green, (6) blue, (7) yellow long sleeve, (8) tan long sleeve, (9) too big plaid, (10) gold long sleeve, (11) olive, (12) tan plaid, (13) grey, and (14) a black winter pullover. Man, I didn't realize I had so many. Some are nice, others for yardwork. I also have four pair of lightweight Columbia pants that I also love. I hate heavy clothes, especially pants.
Tuesday I was first in the nation to correctly answer the daily SABR trivia question. This was my second win. Usually I don't see the email right when it comes in, but this one I did. I happen to follow a Hoyt Wilhelm account on Twitter, which recently posted about the giant catcher's mitt – a subject that interests me. It would be fun to have such a monstrosity, if not a jumbo mascot glove. The Braves mascot Blooper has a lefthanded jumbo mascot glove.
CLINT COURTNEY [SABR Bio] was the first to use the giant catcher's mitt developed to help handle knuckleballers' pitches. The mitt was developed by BAL manager Paul Richards with Hoyt Wilhelm in mind. It was shaped like an elephant`s ear. Richards, who had been a catcher, asked Wilson Sporting Goods to design the glove, taking advantage of the fact that there was no restriction on the size of a catcher`s glove at the time. Courtney hit the first major league home run in Memorial Stadium, homering off CHW's Virgil Trucks on 15-Apr-1954 in the third inning. He had exactly one at-bat for his penultimate team. After a pinch-hit fly out for KCA on 15-Apr-1961, he returned to BAL for his third & final stint.
Read any good books lately? I haven't been too motivated to read my CS Lewis sci-fi book, Out of the Silent Planet. Need to finish it.
Braves eked out a win last night. One game back. Three games over .500. 7-3 in their last ten games (Phils are 8-2).
Tuesday: worked past 5:15, then stopped by the driving range on the way home. As promising as my round was on Saturday, last night I didn't hit five good shots out of 65 balls. Plus I got a blister. I did hit a few good putts. What I need to do is practice there twice a week, once to hit a bucket of balls and another time to chip and putt.
Then I picked up a burger and tots from Firebirds, a fancy place on Old Milton Parkway across from the Avalon. You guys need to try it out. Burger meat was great, but I wasn't crazy about the bun. Tots were cold, but that's the chance you take with takeout.

Got home after 7:30. Winnie had escaped from her crate, and was excited to see me. She tried to jump from the blue chair to the ottoman. The first time she didn't make it, but the second time she did. I pushed the ottoman further away, to discourage further attempts.
Last night at Ceil's women's ministry one of the volunteers grilled out steaks for the ladies.
Slept until almost seven this morning. Barely made it to work by 8 am. Was worn out from the driving range.
Subway may drop Team USA soccer player Megan Rapinoe as a sponsor.
Yesterday was David Hurt's birthday. He turned 66. Hurt used the occasion to grouch about my Instagram post that he didn't think funny. I'd been saving a picture of him behind a Superman photo board to post on his birthday. His family loved it. And to think he didn't want to be seen with me wearing red shoes.
