Found out the story of Joel Norman winning the Braves Stolen Base Challenge last week. The choir that was to sing the national anthem was running late, so Joel was called in as a replacement. At the last moment the choir was able to make it. Joel asked if he could race the Freeze. Instead they let him participate in the Stolen Base Challenge. He beat the clock, and won a $100.00 gift card to a bagel place.
News: this coming Monday August 23 before the Braves/Yankees game, Joel will be singing the national anthem.

Besides Brian Roberts, he is the only American Leaguer to have multiple seasons of fifty doubles in the last quarter century. Nomar had 51 doubles in 2000 and 56 in 2002. Roberts reached 50 doubles three times, in 2004, 2008 and 2009. Nomar became famous for adjusting the straps on his batting gloves before and during each at bat.
