Started reading The Seven Year Slip, by Ashley Poston. Involves time travel. My kind of book.
Finished season 2 on A Man on the Inside, the Netflix show. So good. There’s talk of a third season, but it’s months and months away. Interesting looking TV shows: Squid Game, on Netflix. Fallout, on Amazon Prime. Ponies, on the Peacock Network. The Diplomat, on Netflix.
Reid and I have been emailing back and forth for some 25 years. I can’t remember what the circumstances were that led us to start emailing.
Last night I hadn’t been in in bed very long when my heel started hurting. Made me think of Reid. At night from time to time my legs will cramp. For years I had a tiny tube with small zinc pellets that I’d take from the leg cramps. Small but they seemed to work. I just ran out of the pellets, so I need a refill.
Four more days of work. Wednesday: lunch, cake, small group. Thursday: lunch, then dinner. Busy busy busy. Friday I’ll have errands to run, lunch with friends, and a family dinner. Then the girls stay with us for the next week. Saturday we are taking the girls to the Pope High School production of Frozen, the girls favorite Disney movie.
Had another buddy retire. Now I have more close retired friends than working friends. Retired: Lee, Reid W, Reid H, Rob C, John, Robert, Tommy, Steve W, Gee, Phil, Dic Dac, Rusty, Rodney. Working: Preston, Shawn, Rob, Steve F, Dan, David C, Chris A, Jim, Joe, David R, Brian.
Caleb will be attending the Waste Management Open, the highly attended PGA tournament in Phoenix on Super Bowl weekend. The tourney with the stadium surrounding the par three 16th hole. Caleb’s trip will be a part of a bachelor party.
Someone is posting lots of pictures of Joe's church basketball team. Almost as creepy as me posting them here. Joe is one of those dudes who only wears his basketball shoes out on the court, then changes before hitting the parking lot. I should've thought about that, back in the day. Maybe it was raining.
Slow weekend for me. Friday: picked up a pie from Pizzeria Lucca, up by the Roswell Square. Ceil and Matthew shopped at Ponce City Market. W&MC celebrated their family's 10th birthday. Caleb went to the Peach Bowl. Sat in a luxury box.
Saturday: housework. NFL football. Ceil and Anna went to a baby shower for MC’s sister. Quesadillas for supper.
Sunday School and worship. Laundry. Football. C ran some errands. Worked on my going away speeches. Pancakes for supper.
Saw an old video of Bill Curry speaking at SPdL, back when David Sapp was pastor.
