Rory Repeats

After church yesterday Ceil made pimento cheese sandwiches for lunch. We plopped down on the couch to watch the Masters. I pulled out my laptop and did all my daily stuff. I finished up on my laptop in time to watch the final few holes with less distractions.

Amazing that Rory was able to win in back to back years. Such a tough tournament to win. Lots of challengers. Justin Rose and Scottie made a run at it. Colin M had a great day, despite being in almost crippling pain. The pressure on those guys was severe. Hard to blame Rory for snapping when the guy sneezed on 13. On Saturday Scottie snapped at a reporter for asking a dumb question. Those guys do a thousand things right, but take heat for the one slip up.

This was Jim Nantz's 40th Masters. He said he wanted to step down after 50, when he would be 75 years old. But someone reminded Nantz that his 51st Masters would be the 100th Masters. Not sure what he will do.

Some were criticizing CBS for losing where Rory's tee shot on 18 went. How could they have expected a shot to have gone almost into the 10th fairway? It's ridiculous takes like this that hopefully will lead me to get off social media.

Ever notice how good the Nike golfers look? Rory, Scottie, and a couple of others. Simple, clean outfits. The Nike logo and little else. Other guys look like NASCAR drivers with all the logos on their shirts: both collars, both sleeves, and both sides of the chest. Tommy Fleetwood is between sponsors. On Sunday he wore an Augusta National Golf Club golf shirt. Sweet.
I love how these yahoos on social media post "things you didn't know about the Masters" - and it's stuff that's been common knowledge for years. The Masters experience is so far away superior to that of the other majors and tournaments. So many behind the scenes articles about the food, merchandise, replacing divots, the azaleas, what Augusta national does in the community. The players really want to be there. Even those who miss the cut stick around for the weekend.

As usual, my list of Masters members received plenty of views - about 1100 this past week alone. Currently has the third most views in my blog's history.
After the Masters, we watched a good chunk of the Braves game. A good one to be on national TV. Matt Olson is climbing up the list for his consecutive games streak. The Braves are the only team in baseball to have won every series so far. They lead the majors in run differential as well.

Lots of compliments on the Braves new uniforms. Interesting that they wore them for three straight games. I wonder if they're going to put the 60th Anniversary patch on the jerseys. The power blue jerseys already have a patch on each sleeve, so that may be problematic.
I did do a little bit of straightening up yesterday. Should have done more. So much to do before hosting the guys on Wednesday night. I'm skipped the gym but got a good workout trimming the hedges. Stopped by Whattaburger for a free patty melt.
W&MC took the girls to Brevard NC to visit friends.
