Early Saturday morning, W&MC took the girls over to meet Miller.
Friday night we watched Happy's Place.
Saturday: up early to golf - my first time all week. Teed off at 6:48 am. It was pretty light.
1. Made good contact on the first two tee shots, but neither light up ball actually lit up, so I never found them. My third try was one of the best 6 irons I've hit off the first tee, much further than usual. Didn't find my light up balls but di find two regular balls in the fairway. Didn't hit a pretty approach, but I did get a good roll. Only one of my three chips stuck on the green.
2. Hit two flubs off the tee, plus a third that felt good, but I never found it. Should've pulled out another l After a poor drive ight up ball to hit. Two good pitches, but both bounced off the back of the green.
3. Pulled all three tee shots left. Made one great chip, plus two other chips that were okay.
4. Hit a great long, straight 6 iron off the tee. I hit it high and right - just where it needed it to go. Of course it bounced left, and rolled across to the back of the green. Would've rolled off the green had it not been for the freshly laid sod on the fringe. Made a couple of good lag putts.
5. Hit three low 4 irons off the tee, but got good rolls on all three. Two would've rolled onto the green had it not been for that sod on the fringe. Good lag putt.
6. After a poor drive off the tee, my mulligan sailed low and straight down the left side of the fairway - bending just around the high rough. Got a great roll, well past the 150 yard marker. I'd hit two fairway 4 irons from further back, both decent but too far right. Later I discovered they'd both rolled back down the hill into the fairway. But I hit two good 6 iron approach shots from where my tee shot had rolled - both to the fringe. Hit a couple of good lag putts.
7. Two poor drives sliced right, but a third sailed low, and rolled almost to the top of the hill. Hit two good 4 irons, but again they stayed too far right - both getting knocked down by the trees. One got a good roll. First chip rolled off the left side of the green, but the second popped onto the green. Two fair lag putts - then I sank a 15 footer for "bogey".
8. Climbed the hill to the 8th tee. Hit a decent drive, high and and about halfway down the hill. Hit three ugly chips, but two got good rolls - one onto the green. Missed the birdie putts.
9. Hit two okay hybrids off the tee, though they stayed further right than I would've liked. Hit one decent chip out of three. Sank a curving putt for "bogey".
Finished at 8:14 am. Stopped by RaceTrac on the way home for my one free drink of the month. Back home by 9:10 - just in time to go on a mile walk with Ceil and Winnie.
Drove C down to an art store on Northside Drive. I went across the street to Goodwill. Then we ate lunch at Taqueria. Had a nice chat with Rich Morris. Can't believe his son is 16, and taking calculus. While at Westside Provisions, C got some coffee and did some shopping.
On the way home we stopped by two different Pike Nurseries and one Ace Hardware. All the traffic was driving me crazy. Finally got home and crashed on the couch.
Mexican for supper as well. Watching the Braves on Fox. So far we haven't been able to watch BravesVisionTV, but we'll probably get it soon.
