As the Braves Turn

Freddie Freeman is coming up on his tenth season in the majors, but he just hit his first grand slam. Couple days later he hit his second. His wife, pregnant with twin boys, says everything is coming in pairs these days.

Then there's Max Fried. So many talking about how great he is (he is good), that he was due for a hiccup. Not the greatest weekend. No surprise for a team with only two starting pitchers and missing it's injured switch-hitting All-Star second-baseman. Had to bring in Culbertson, who did well again.

Got a lot done at work Friday, since things were quiet going into the holiday weekend. Got three big projects finished. Worked past 5:30. Next week will be busy with a coworker on vacation.

Supper was a pasta in meat sauce, with spinach. Ceil spent the rest of the evening getting ready for her party.
The small of my back hurts. Tried to stay active Saturday but haven't worked it out. Cleaned upstairs this morning then packaged a pair of shoes for shipment. Anna arrived to go help Ceil do art at one of her student's birthday party, the Granddaughter of Ravi Zacharias. The party was at the late Ravi's house in Johns Creek, near the Country Club of the South. Ceil came home and fell asleep.

I ran errands. Mailed the shoes. Went to the bank (it was closed). Target. Auto parts store. Haircut. McDonalds. Home. Dishwasher. Washed the car. Cleaned out the trunk. Laundry. Mexican for supper. Whatever Ceil cooks, I eat.
The daughter of one of the couples in our small group is a freshman at UGA. She's come back home, sick with the covid. She's staying in their basement.
Been watching the Tour Championship? Great shot by the kid from Berkeley. Jon Rahm and his caddy violated a rule. Did you hear? Gotta look up the story.

We watched the Kentucky Derby. Should've known the favorite wasn't going to win, with so many picking him (her?). Interesting they made note of the song My Old Kentucky Home's roots, but still played it. But no Star Spangled Banner?

Ant bit my foot. What I get for going barefoot.

Watched a good movie from 2007 "Because I Said So". Diane Keaton plays the mother of Mandy Moore and Lauren Graham, and falls for the father of Moore's boyfriend: Stephen Collins.
No one follows rules any more. Especially on the road. Really gotta watch out for the crazies. Wild that both Northside and Lindbergh being shut down. They were working on Lindbergh a couple of Wednesday's ago when I was down there.
