Experience Counts

In four out of five playoff games this weekend the more experienced QB beat the lesser experienced QB. Unless you are Joe Burrow, who some are calling the next Tom Brady. We shall see. Peyton and Eli discussed this last night. The remaining "dual-threat" QB's were eliminated from the playoffs, leaving only traditional dropback QB's to compete for the Lombardi Trophy.

Bills (vet Josh) beat Patriots (rookie Jones)

Bengals (Burrow) beat Raiders (Carr)

Bucs (Brady) beat Eagles (Hurts)

49ers (vet) beat Cowboys (Prescott)

Rams (Stafford) beat Cards (Murray)

Next weekend all the remaining playoff teams are in action. This past weekend the Packers and Titans had a bye.

1/22 2:30 Bengals@Titans

1/22 6:15 49ers@Packers

1/23 1:00 Rams@Bucs

1/23 4:30 Bills@Chiefs

Peyton and Eli ragged on all the Hollywood stars in attendance, asking where were they during the regular season. Good segment with Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Braves sportswriter Dave O’Brien said that when he covered the Miami Hurricanes for two years Johnson wasn’t the best player, but he was the best interview. Back then Johnson kept telling the writers that after school Johnson intended to be a big pro wrestling star.

Watching Eli’s Places I noticed Eli sometimes wears his watch on his right hand. Other times it’s on his right hand. Maybe he doesn’t wear it on his right hand when he’s going to throw a ball. One time a threw a ball while wearing a watch, and my watch went sailing through the air with the ball. Ever since I’ve worn my watch on my right hand. You can usually spot lefties by the watch on their right wrist.

The Johnson Ferry building was closed again last night, so we went across the street to have small group in the Publix cafeteria. A decent meeting place, out of the way of traffic.

East Cobb now has three Publixes in less than a five mile stretch of Johnson’s Ferry Road, plus two more Publixes a couple miles west. Big battle for the grocery dollar, with five grocers at the corner of Roswell and Johnson Ferry, plus five Krogers a couple miles away in each direction. In all there are more than 23 grocery stores in the general area.

Rumor is that JT Daniels will graduate from UGA in May, then transfer to another school. Stetson has yet to announce his decision. That leaves freshman Gunnar Stockton, Carson Beck, and Brock Vandagriff, which is plenty. Odd that Stetson didn’t get to speak Saturday at the celebration. BTW Bennett is blasted for being too short, yet he is every bit as tall as the Heisman Trophy winner.

Tech has announced several additions via transfer, but I haven’t heard of one QB. That’s what they need most.

GT Basketball hosts Wake Forest this week, a team they’ve beat 14 straight times at home. UNC has beat Clemson 59 straight times at home.

For some reason yesterday sports talk 680 am kept everyone at home. Maybe the power was out, but few of the DJ’s were on social media. I was forced to listen again this morning – more bad takes, and making a big deals about subjects everyone else was talking about several days ago.

Did the Grizz play Milwaukee or Chicago? I thought it was a Bull that held Ja, then another big Grizzly picked up the Bull and carried him away. Thought it was the red Bulls road uniforms.

I’ve added Into The Woods to my calendar. April 22-23-24. Probably going to the Saturday matinee. When Anna was in a similar musical in Alpharetta (The Wiz) they made parents help backstage. Lots of practices. I helped mic up all the main characters. Interesting work. Mary-Clayton also performed in several musicals in high school, then majored in musical theater in college.

Into The Woods first a Broadway musical with songs by the late Stephen Sondheim, then a major motion picture starring Emily Blunt, James Corden, and Anna Kendrick. Guess I need to watch it. An alternate plots for Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk story.

Taqueria: man I would usually get soft tacos there, but I think the brisket enchilada plate with beans and rice will be my go to meal going forward.
