R.I.P. James Earl Jones. Voice of Darth Vader, and the Lion King. I liked him in The Sum of All Fears, and as the Josh Gibson character in Bingo Long. He made an appearance in The Sandlot. Of course my favorite role of his was Terrance Mann in Field of Dreams, where his "People Will Come" speech is indeed epic. Hopefully that corn field does lead to heaven.
Having a hard time finding a good book to read. Finished The Atlas Maneuver by Steve Berry, which was good. I've started out two books since then. One was terrible, the second tolerable. I have a third book waiting in the wings, plus others waiting to come off hold. We'll see.
Bart Starr: A Really Bright Starr! - John Ed Mathison | Leadership Ministries A good Bart Starr devotional from John Ed. Bart went to Lanier High in Montgomery. Is that where Edie went to school. They were (and still are) the Lanier Poets. A great name, named after the poet Sidney Lanier. My high school had been the Lanier Poets until schools were reorganized in the early 1970's, when we became the Central High Chargers. I loved that Lanier Poets name. Even had a Lanier Poets t-shirt made up. Lanier's school colors were orange and green, which was also unique.
Yesterday at 5 pm I finally figured out the weekly Taco Bell deal, and I placed an order for a crunch wrap supreme for one dollar. So I had to leave work earlier than planned, to go get it. Now every Tuesday I know how to get the weekly deal. Then when I got home last night Ceil fixed me her own version of a crunch wrap supreme. Hers was better.
I see where Angel Reese suffered a season ending injury, so I guess that locks up the rookie of the year award for Caitlin.
Question: if Caitlin played a game of basketball just by herself against Angel Reese, Gabby Marshall, and Kate Martin, who would win? Just asking.
In a related note, here's a summary of Tuesday night's Presidential debate.
