Elvis, Beatles...Taylor Swift?

Anna went to the Sunday night Taylor Swift concert as well. Floor seats. First time Mercedes Benz was sold out for three straight nights. Tickets were going for $10,000.00 each. The performance went three hours straight.

Love her or hate her, you gotta rank her among the top rock stars of all time. Seems to have a good head on her shoulders. Will she self-destruct like Elvis, Michael Jackson, and the Beatles? Or stand the test of time like the rolling Stones, the Grateful Dead, and Garth Brooks?

Man I was on the go this past weekend. Friday night gathering at Dan’s house. At least 20 in attendance, including a couple headed to India. He went to Tech, she to UGA. Lots of Mexican food. I just piled it on my plate and ate with chips, like nachos. Also several desserts: cakes, cookies, ice cream. Didn’t leave until 10:30.

Up early for golf. Hitting my driver really well. Then I remembered a tip I’d seen on the internet. Tried it and it messed me up. Golf was over a 2 mile walk. Then to a thrift store, which is a lot of walking. Got home and C wanted to go on a walk. Another 2-1/2 miles. Had over 12000 steps by 11:30 am. Had to do laundry and housework. Realized it was going to rain Sat night and Sun AM, so I cut the grass late Saturday afternoon.

Picked up a pie from Pizzaria Lucca in Roswell. By the end of the day I’s walked almost 20,000 steps. Fell asleep on the couch. Went to bed at 9 pm and slept hard past 9 am.

Sunday afternoon I plopped down on the couch. Watched the Mexican Open and Oceans 8. Very good. Even C liked it. Leftover baked chicken for lunch and pork tenderloin for supper. Watched the Hallmark Channel movie Roadhouse Romance with American Idol runnerup Lauren Aliana. We were almost to the end and I messed up the TV. Couldn’t see the end. So while C went to the grocery I restarted the movie and watched the whole thing again.

After those hilly walks of mine on Sat AM my hip was hurting a little. Even after resting on Sunday, on Monday AM I lifted weights instead of running.

I don’t get to eat many burgers. Last three were April 14, 15, and March 25 before the wedding.

Maybe not the best ever compliment but the very strict headmasters at the kid’s school (Living Science) trusted me to write skits and such. Of others, including at work. Lots of compliments about my wedding reception speech.

DENISON: David Brooks’ New York Times column is disturbing – “we live in a dog-eat-dog world. The strong do what they can and the weak suffer. I’m justified in grabbing all that I can because if I don’t, the other guy will. People tear through codes and customs that have been built over centuries to nurture goodness and cooperation. Cruelty, dishonesty, vainglory, and arrogance are valorized as survival skills. Other people are objects to be utilized.”
