Winnie Escapes

1. This past Saturday I happened to see a delivery driver pull up to our house. I waited until he was on the way to the door to open it. He gave me the package and as I turned to go inside, Winnie bolted out the door. She trotted over to the deliveryman. I chased, but knew that if I grabbed Winnie that she would playfully dodge away, like it was a game. The truck drove off and another car drove past, without Winnie bolting into the street. Ceil called for Winnie from the front door, but wasn’t much help. Finally C got the squeaky toy that Winnie was trained to obey. I moved toward the house, and Winnie finally came back inside.

2. Over the Christmas holidays, one day I noticed a package had been delivered, and was at our front door. As I opened the door, Winnie saw a young mother walking her baby in a stroller. Winnie bolted out the door and raced to the mother in the street, who wasn’t happy. Winnie just wanted to play. We finally got her back inside that time as well.

Winnie is just so playful that it’s hard for her to obey. We’re not good dog trainers, and we don’t with Winnie enough. Poor Winnie needs a boy to play with.

Since I have skipped the gym this week to recover from my fall (and its cold) Ceil figured out I could take Winnie out before I leave for work. Another reason to go to the gym. Since I’ve been sleeping later, Winnie has stayed in the bed with me instead of going downstairs with C. Might be that the curtains were open, and from our bed she has a good view of the street and woods.

I need to read up on that indoor golf league. C has been asking questions.

On Sunday March 20 at 6 pm JFBC is having a hymn sing in their chapel. They’ll be taking requests.

Luke 10:38-42 Jesus visits Martha and Mary.

38. Jesus entered a village and Martha welcomed him in to her house. 39. Her sister Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to his teaching. 40. Martha was distracted with much serving. She asked Jesus “Lord do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me.” 41. Jesus replied “Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things. 42. “One thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good, which will not be taken from her”.
