GT Uni-Tracker

Tech has so many damn uniform combinations I get dizzy trying to keep up. Three colors (gold, white, navy) mixed and matched over helmets, jerseys, pants, and face masks make for 108 different combinations. That doesn’t count two colors of shoes and socks, which thank goodness are only worn as matched sets. Doesn’t count this year’s throwbacks or last season’s all grey superhero uniforms. Sometimes the numbers on the white jerseys are navy, sometimes gold.

For the kids they really get worked up by all this. Every week is better than the week before. If only it would help them actually play football better.

Of course so far this season through seven games the Jackets haven’t worn the same uniform twice. They did were their traditional gold helmets, white jerseys, and gold pants two times, once each with a navy mask and gold mask. They wore white jerseys and navy pants twice – once each with a gold helmet and white helmet. I don’t expect them to repeat a combo all year.

I am no fan of the navy pants. That’s a high school look. You can keep the navy facemasks as well. If I had my druthers the masks would be grey.

Last year Tech messed up and wore one uni set twice. I think their excuse was that the gold on the numbers were a different shade.

Just think if they could actually play football.

DON MATTINGLY  [SABR Bio] had the most at-bats in a season without a single stolen base. 1986 = 677 AB, 0 SB. No other New York Yankee has ever had more hits or more doubles in a season - 238 H, 53 2B in 1986. He was the next Yankee after Mickey Mantle’s Triple Crown season to win a batting title - Hit .343 in 1984

Thursday: drove home after work. Ceil was at small group. Cooked two tasty chicken quesadillas for supper. Watched The Weakest Link. Most of the questions aren’t too hard, except the pop culture ones. Then Jeopardy. Not much else.

Taking physical inventory at work today and tomorrow. That means food. Instead of donuts and pizza due to covid we’re having Chickfila biscuits and Dreamland BBQ boxed lunches. Tomorrow Chickfila biscuits and Jimmy Johns subs.

Supposed to do something with W&MC tonight. Also Anna. Probably eat at W&MC’s house.

When Barney would get sick Ceil would make his food – pumpkin, plain unseasoned chicken, and rice. Years ago she baked dog biscuits. That might’ve been for Speedle, our first dog.
