TONY PEREZ [SABR Bio] was the first native of Cuba to win the All-Star Game MVP award, on 11-Jul-67. He was also the first Cuban to homer in an ASG, and the first Reds player to win the ASG MVP. It was the first of seven ASGs for Perez. His son played more than 750 games in the majors: Eduardo Perez = 13 MLB yrs, no ASG Tony collected six RBI, accounting for all of his team's runs as they won both ends of a doubleheader on his thirtieth birthday, on 14-May-1972(1) 4-3 & 14-May-1972(2) 2-0 CIN vs. STL.
Trevor Lawrence at the Masters. Many wonder what shoe company he'll sign with: he wore Nike at Clemson, and at his pro day, but usually wears adidas the rest of this time - like his shirt above. Looks like a cheap low-tech Timex Ironman watch he's wearing, though it's a model I always liked as well.
However, if we decide it is too late for America, we won’t pray and work for America to turn to God. We won’t risk our social status by standing for biblical morality in our anti-Christian culture. We won’t share Christ with those who are likely to reject us and our witness. We won’t pay a price to take the light of Jesus to the darkness of our world (Matthew 5:14–16). In this case, giving up on America will become a self-fulfilling prophecy. If God's people stop sharing God's truth and standing for God's word, the lost culture will obviously become more lost.
This is not our decision. You and I have no right to tell God our nation is too far gone, that we will no longer pray and work for the spiritual awakening America needs. No one but God knows the final "day and hour" (Matthew 24:36). Our job is to stay faithful to our calling until Jesus calls us to heaven, or returns to earth.
Found it interesting that Steak Shapiro wore blue Puma Suedes to his daughter's bat mitzvah. Maybe she picked them out for him. At least they matched his outfit.
